It may be the year 2025, but the custody battle between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be about to enter the courtroom.

“The Kardashians” reality star was married to the Yeezy founder from 2014 to 2022 and welcomed four children during that time: North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.

Given Ye’s recent social media behavior, it seems Kim is considering filing for full custody roughly three years after their divorce.

On Tuesday, multiple sources told Us Weekly that the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” reality star is “considering” filing for “full custody” of their four children.

“She is in a very tough position when she really has to co-parent with him,” an insider shared. “Right now he is very distracted and she does not want to say anything bad about him, but the safety of her kids is what is [motivating this consideration].”

A second source told the publication that she “is worried” that his online behavior could “create problems” for their kids.

Although Ye has been posting antisemitic rants on social media for years now, it seems that things might have hit a breaking point for Kim when Ye shared a song with Sean “Diddy” Combs that featured the vocals of their 11-year-old daughter, North.

After releasing the song, Ye posted an alleged text message exchange between him and Kim, apparently showing how she tried to prevent the release of the song.

“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop,” Kim wrote, according to screenshots shared by TMZ. “I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her.”

Ye allegedly replied, “And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”

A few years ago, during an appearance on the “Angie Martinez IRL” podcast in December 2022, Kim opened up on the challenges of coparenting with her ex.

“I had the best dad. I don’t want to get emotional, but it’s just been a day for me. It is hard. Co-parenting is really f-cking hard,” she shared. “I had the best dad and the best experiences, and that is all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that is what I want for them.”

When asked about the challenges of trying to prevent her children from seeing his controversial posts, Kim replied, “I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on [in] the outside world.”

“I am holding on by a thread,” she confessed. “I know that I am so close to that not happening, but while it is still that way, I will protect that to the end of the Earth as long as I can. My kids don’t know anything.”

After admitting that it’s a “full-time job” trying to protect her children, Kim went on to say, “It is worth it because I think that of course I want to disassociate in specific thoughts and things being said because that is not me.”

“But at the same time in my home I could be going through something, but if we are riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music — no matter what we are going through — I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids,” she admitted. “[I can] act like nothing is wrong and as soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry.”

Even though Ye has moved on with his now-wife Bianca Censori, he says he still tries to keep an open line of communication with his ex-wife.

On the “Alo Mind Full” podcast in September 2022, Ye said, “Even to this day, I’ll still give Kim advice on things that could help because that’s going to go to the kids.”

“She’s still got them 80 percent of the time, [to] raise those children,” he continued. “So what people saw when I was going back and forth is that I still have to be able to throw my version of what people would throw into the curriculum.”
