As Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s high-profile legal battle continues, a Hollywood intimacy coordinator has weighed in on their on-set relationship during the filming of "It Ends With Us."
Mia Schachter, who is not affiliated with the film, shared her perspective in the newly released UK documentary "He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni," suggesting that the co-stars once shared a genuine friendship before their dispute escalated into dueling lawsuits.
‘Genuine Affection’ Between Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni?

Schachter, after reviewing text messages exchanged between Lively and Baldoni, observed that their conversations appeared playful and, at times, even flirty.
"From reading their text messages, I do get the sense that, at one point, there was genuine affection between them and what felt like a friendship," Schachter said in the documentary, per Us Weekly.
However, that supposed camaraderie took a dramatic turn when Lively filed a December 2024 lawsuit against Baldoni accusing him of sexual harassment on set.
Lively’s Allegations And Baldoni’s Defense

In her lawsuit, Lively alleged that Baldoni, who also directed the film, improvised kissing scenes and attempted to include additional sex scenes that were not in the original script. She also claimed that, at times, there was no intimacy coordinator present during filming.
Baldoni denied all allegations in his January countersuit, arguing that Lively herself declined to meet the film’s intimacy coordinator before production began.
To support his defense, Baldoni submitted a text message from Lively, in which she stated she did not need to meet the coordinator until filming started. Schachter, speaking from her own experience, suggested that this decision could indicate a certain level of initial trust between the co-stars.
"In my experience, when an actor says, ‘I don’t need to meet the intimacy coordinator until we’re shooting,’ as much as it hinders my process, it does typically indicate that they trust their scene partner," she explained.
"And those texts made me think that, at one point, she did feel a lot of trust with him."
Dissecting The Slow-Dance Scene: Who Was In The Right?

One of the most scrutinized moments in Lively and Baldoni’s dispute is a slow-dancing scene from "It Ends With Us," where Lively allegedly tried to avoid kissing Baldoni by suggesting they engage in conversation instead.
While Baldoni interpreted this as Lively “intruding” in the production process, Schachter disagreed. "I see an actress trying not to kiss her co-worker, and instead of saying, ‘I don’t want to do that,’ she’s making other suggestions," she said.
Schachter further defended Lively’s approach, arguing that her actions were “pretty considerate” given the circumstances. "It could be humiliating for everyone there to see Blake Lively tell Justin Baldoni, ‘Stop trying to kiss me,’" she noted.
Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni’s Flirty Texts Add New Twist To Legal Drama

As Lively and Baldoni find themselves embroiled in dueling lawsuits, the release of private text exchanges between them has provided a glimpse into what once seemed like an easygoing and supportive relationship.
According to Daily Mail, messages between the two stars paint a very different picture from the tension-filled allegations being made in court.
"I feel the same. It’s such a good feeling to get work done that we’re proud of. And to do it together," Lively wrote to Baldoni in one exchange. "It just clicks when we find it."
Baldoni’s legal team argues that their relationship was initially built on trust, humor, and camaraderie, with the two frequently exchanging daily texts, personal anecdotes, jokes, and even memes. They reportedly "shared stories and pictures from their lives, commiserated over family illnesses, and exchanged jokes and memes," Baldoni’s attorneys claimed, emphasizing the "comfortable dynamic" the two allegedly shared.
In another exchange, Baldoni playfully teased Lively, telling her, "I like sentimental Blake."
"Never met her," Lively joked in response.
Baldoni then quipped, "I also like a--hole Blake... don’t worry."
Lively continued the banter with self-deprecating humor, replying: "I’ve met her. So have my suppositories."
The Legal Battle Continues

According to the messages, their partnership seemed to be in a good place just before filming began on "It Ends With Us." In May 2023, on the eve of production, Lively expressed her enthusiasm for the project and appreciation for Baldoni’s commitment.
"I’m excited to start tomorrow. But it’s only one piece of the journey. We started months ago," she wrote.
She followed up with a message thanking Baldoni for his dedication to the project. "Thank you for caring so much and for putting every bit of you into showing it," she said.
While the legal dispute continues to unfold, the release of these text messages and the new insight from intimacy coordinator Mia Schachter, has only added more layers to an already complicated case.
