Prince Harry Admits That Princess Diana's Death Is Still 'A Wound That Festers'

New parents Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, have been unexpectedly vulnerable in their new documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. They've opened up about how cruel the British press has been to Markle since she's been in the public eye, and Harry opened up about life after the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

During the doc, Harry was asked "Do you feel at peace in a way yet, or is it still a sort of a wound that festers?" Harry responded:
"I think probably a wound that festers. I think being part of this family, in this role, in this job, every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash, it takes me straight back, so in that respect, it's the worst reminder of her life as opposed to the best."

The documentary's topic -- the couple's Royal Tour of Africa, especially Harry's solo trip to Angola -- highlights how they are dedicated to continuing Diana's vision.
"Being here now 22 years later trying to finish what she started will be incredibly emotional but everything that I do reminds me of her. But as I said with the role, with the job, and the sort of pressures that come with that, I get reminded of the bad stuff, unfortunately."

Harry and Meghan consider Africa a "second home." There are even rumors that they couple could settle somewhere on the continent permanently. Harry explained his deep connection to Africa and how it has shaped him as a man.
"Ever since I came to this continent as a young boy, trying to cope with something I can never possibly describe, Africa has held me in an embrace that I will never forget, and I feel incredibly fortunate for that."
