It has been two months since the Palisades wildfire rampage, and one lucky cat has been reunited with its family.

Aggie, a brave California Maine Coon, was displaced from her family after the fire tore through their Los Angeles home in January. The poor cat endured the devastating aftermath, surviving the ash and ruins while hoping to be found.

Thanks to Aggie's resilience and her owner Katherine Kiefer's unrelenting hope to see her pet, the pair were reunited over the weekend.Their touching reunion was captured in a TikTok video that has since garnered over 7 million views.

Katherine's daughter, Carolyn Kiefer, captured her mother's tear-filled reunion with Aggie on her social media page. The post showed a female staffer for Westside Animal Shelter carefully holding the cat in her arms as she reintroduced the feline to an emotional Katherine.

The 82-year-old was beside herself with joy as she carefully approached Aggie, gently stroking the Maine Coon. The poor cat bore the evidence of its struggles on its fur, looking worn out and burnt. Despite its initial bewilderment, Aggie appeared to recognize Katherine once she gently cradled the cat in her arms.

Katherine could not stop the tears from falling as she hugged her precious cat. Her daughter, Carolyn, narrated the family's story in short overlay texts that flashed across the screen. She revealed Aggie had stayed close to their ruined home, battling the elements for two months until she was found on their streets.

Katherine Kiefer Feared The Reunion Was A Dream

The Associated Press shared more details about Katherine and Aggie's reunion, revealing the family initially feared the cat was dead. However, Katherine never lost hope, and her prayers paid out over the weekend when she received a call from West Los Angeles Animal Shelter.

"I was very much worried that I was going to wake up and (discover) it had been a dream," Katherine said about her emotional reunion with Aggie. Unfortunately, due to the cat's poor state, the family could not be officially together until Thursday, March 13.

Aggie needed several blood transfusions and a specialist to regain her health, with Carolyn stressing that "she was basically skin and bone, and in a state of absolute starvation" when the cat was found. While awaiting her baby's return, Katherine shared an important message to pet owners, saying:

"Don't underestimate cats."

The Miraculous Cat Received An Outpouring Of Support

The TikTok post capturing Aggie's reunion with Katherine received over 1 million likes and thousands of comments from touched fans. These people similarly supported the Maine Coon's recovery by donating to the family's $20,000 GoFundMe campaign.

As of Friday, March 14, over a thousand donors had raised $35,101 for Aggie's veterinary treatment. The campaign was organized by Carolyn, who stressed in the description that extra funds would be donated to local shelters.

She also added pictures of Aggie and Katherine's reunion, sparking comments like "What a strong and brave kitty to make it through so much. Wishing Aggie a speedy recovery!" More people raved about the cat having nine lives, with someone writing:

"You're a strong one, Aggie :) You are amazing, and I am so happy for Carolyn!!!!!! What a miracle ... XOXOXOXO."

During the devastating fires that separated Aggie from her family, Jennifer Aniston used her platform to implore fans for kindness. The Blast reported that she shared an important public service announcement on her Instagram Stories, reposting it from a puppy account called @puppyluvla.

The PSA invoked those living near the Palisades fires to be considerate towards the animals fleeing the area. These wild animals could end up in their yards, searching for a safe place, and residents were warned to keep their pets indoors at night.

Although the message advised people to be cautious of these creatures, it begged them to help rather than blatantly avoid these desperate, needy animals. "Consider leaving out buckets of water for these animals—they are scared, exhausted, and may have lost their homes."

Aniston's first message stressed that "a little kindness" went a long way in helping displaced animals recover. The actress continued pushing for wildlife awareness amid the fires by sharing evacuation tips and shelter locations.

She revealed there were two shelter locations for large and small animals in Los Angeles, with one of these areas accepting residents in need. Her post also included valuable information about road closures and reminders for those in danger zones to be prepared to evacuate.

The Palisades wildfire destroyed numerous homes and wildlife, forcing thousands to evacuate. Additionally, the destruction sparked widespread power outages, with more than 362,000 homes and businesses across California left without electricity.

Hopefully, more pet owners will be reunited with their furry friends like Katherine Kiefer and Aggie.
