Nicolas Cage's Son Weston Slams Mom As 'Negligent' In Move To Get Case Tossed

Nicolas Cage's son, Weston Coppola Cage, is not letting his mother's allegations stick!

The star actor's son has come out to debunk every claim of abuse his mother, Christina Fulton, leveled against him, dismissing it as untrue.

Nicolas Cage and Weston Coppola Cage were dragged to court by Christina Fulton over a physical assault that happened at Weston's apartment in Los Angeles last April.

Weston publicly responded to his mother's lawsuit, in which she accused him of assault and inflicting serious injuries. According to court documents, Weston firmly denies all allegations against him.

His attorney contends that any injuries or damages claimed by Christina were primarily caused by her negligence and actions, suggesting that her compensation should be significantly reduced due to her role in the incident.

Additionally, Weston's attorney stated that Christina should be unable to pursue her claims against Weston because of her wrongful conduct, invoking the doctrine of unclean hands.

In Touch shared that the musician is now seeking to dismiss the lawsuit entirely, emphasizing that Christina's conduct related to the situation should prevent her from claiming damages or any other relief.

On February 18, Christina initiated the lawsuit against Weston and Nicolas, alleging that Weston had committed assault and battery, as well as intentional infliction of emotional distress. She claimed that the alleged attack took place at his apartment building in Downtown Los Angeles on April 28, 2024. 

Christina reported sustaining injuries that necessitated extensive medical care and treatment. Furthermore, she asserted that her son's actions led to significant losses in essential business deals.

The lawsuit also named her ex-partner as a defendant, arguing that he shares some responsibility for their son Weston's actions due to his alleged enabling behavior.

In her complaint, she detailed Weston's troubling history, which includes mental health issues and a pattern of violent behavior.

Christina accused Nicolas of being aware of Weston's past yet failing to intervene and prevent further violence. Instead, she claims that Nicolas took actions that supported Weston's criminal conduct.

Christina continued that Nicolas further indulged their son by helping him with bail and frequently drinking with him, despite knowledge of his substance abuse issues and violent behavior. 

The lawsuit highlighted that Nicolas was aware, or should have been aware, of the serious risks posed by their son's documented history of violence and mental instability.

In response, Nicolas' lawyer described Christina's decision to sue her own son as unsurprising, pointing to her history of litigation against family members. 

The lawyer characterized the lawsuit as a potential attempt for financial gain and attention, noting that Christina had informed the LAPD that her son was experiencing a mental health crisis during the incident in question. The legal team assured Christina they would address the matter in court.

Christina eventually dropped Nicolas' name from the lawsuit. As noted by The Blast, Christina's latest claim means Nicolas is free of any wrongdoing, as she earlier identified in the filing.

While Nicolas gets to walk away a free man, Weston remains an active defendant in the lawsuit. Christina's attorney requested that the claims against Nicolas be dismissed with prejudice, preventing Christina from pursuing them further. 

Nicolas's attorney characterized the allegations as "absurd and frivolous," highlighting that Weston, aged 34, is responsible for his actions. Consequently, Nicolas should not be held accountable for any alleged assault on Weston's mother.

Christina openly reflected on the crushing pain she has endured over the past few months following the alleged attack by her son. Heartbroken, she focused on her experiences as a mother who had just suffered abuse.

She further expressed her frustration with the LAPD, holding them accountable for their inaction when she needed help the most. Recalling the distressing moment after the alleged assault, she highlighted the emotional toll of feeling abandoned while injured. 

Despite the gravity of her situation, Christina emphasized that her motivations stem from love, declaring, "I'm here again as a mother. I love my son, tough love."

Additionally, Christina claimed there was no argument between her and her son. Instead, she disclosed that he was experiencing mental health issues and that she was trying to get him the necessary help.

The plot in Nicolas Cage's family drama continues to thicken.
