Although the two did not actually hold a wedding ceremony until August 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, Goodwin listed the pair’s wedding date as May 4, 2020, the day that they were initially scheduled to be married.
The divorce filing comes less than a week after Victoria was arrested on March 6. She was charged with soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder after law enforcement officials found text messages that seemingly indicated a murder-for-hire plot. She was being held on $100,000 bail.

On Monday, March 10, TMZwas the first to report the news that Goodwin’s wife had been arrested after she allegedly tried to have him killed. Per the police report, Victoria had been communicating with a Florida prison inmate, Grant Amato, about trying to leave her husband.
One alleged text message read: “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”
The arrest report indicated that she had planned to pay Amato $11,515 in October 2024, which may or may not have included messages about a $2,500 upfront payment. The messages then went on to discuss Goodwin’s location and filming schedule, as he was filming more episodes of “Ghost Adventures” in California at the time of the alleged hit.
Another alleged text message read, “He’s asleep right now in the hotel room … I need to know what’s going on. Can I get an update. Was it done?”

The alleged murder-for-hire plot was discovered when Florida corrections officers found Amato’s contraband phone and searched through the messages. When questioned, Victoria denied wanting to have her husband killed and stated that she did not remember sending those messages.
During further questioning, she confessed that she and Goodwin were having marital trouble and said that the over $10,000 payment set aside would have been used for cell phones.
According to TMZ, Goodwin was “devastated” and “blindsided” by the news, as he and his wife had appeared to have a solid relationship. Only one week before she was arrested, Victoria had shared a photo of the couple snuggling with their pet cat.
