Wendy Williams' niece, Alex Finnie, is subject to a police complaint filed by the Manhattan assisted living facility where the television personality has been holed up amid her conservatorship.
In the complaint, the facility accused Finnie of breaking the law after she took her aunt on a dinner date on March 12.
The police complaint filed against Williams' niece comes after her guardianship caught the attention of New York Agencies, after which she was subjected to a medical evaluation to ascertain her mental competency.
Police Complaint Filed Against Wendy Williams' Niece

Things continue to get interesting as Williams fights to free herself from guardianship. The latest development in the saga is that the former TV show host's niece, Finnie, is now subject to a police complaint.
TMZ reported that the facility filed a police report against Finnie, claiming that she broke the law.
According to sources, Finnie accompanied her aunt for a psychological evaluation on Wednesday and back to the Coterie, where she has been living for the past eight months.
The pair spent time at the facility before Finnie took Williams to an Italian restaurant for dinner.
However, while they were out, the facility called the New York Police Department (NYPD) and filed a police report claiming that Finnie "evaded staff by taking Wendy out of the building."
Did Wendy Williams' Niece Break Any Law?

According to the outlet, Williams can't leave the fifth floor of the facility's memory unit without an attendant pushing the elevator button.
However, insiders revealed that an attendant accompanied Williams and Finnie to the lobby and helped them get into their Uber.
Additionally, TMZ received a letter from the lawyer representing Williams' guardian, Sabrina Morrissey. The letter stated that Williams could come and go from the facility when she wanted. It was also said that there were no restrictions on family visits.
Hence, the facility's decision to file a complaint against Finnie went against the letter's content and confused her, Williams, and fans who want the best for them.
Wendy Williams And Alex Finnie React To Police Complaint

When Williams and her niece returned from dinner, they spoke to photographers before entering the facility.
Finnie said, "I was told that, at some point, the police were called because the Coterie here was saying allegedly that I took my aunt from this facility and whisked her away without any sort of confirmation or approval."
Williams described the police report drama as "unbelievable," as she and Finnie felt it was weird that the Coterie had any issue with them going out for dinner despite her guardian's claims that she didn't have movement restrictions and was free to have family visitors.
The 60-year-old television personality said the latest development proves her guardian is lying and confirmed that she wasn't receiving the best treatment at the facility.
Williams said, per New York Post, "Clearly they are lying to me saying I can go out and do what I want to do. This is my niece Alex. She just flew in from Miami, ok? I just came from the hospital, so we are going out to celebrate."
She slammed the facility, saying, "These people are going to plead their case [regarding what happened]. I don't hear."
Williams' Guardianship Catches New York Agencies' Attention

Wendy Williams' guardianship is under investigation by New York authorities after claims she is being unfairly restricted.
The former talk show host, who previously described her care facility as a "luxury prison," has drawn attention from Adult Protective Services and the NYPD.
Authorities interviewed Williams and her close contacts about her living conditions.
The development came after a recent video showed her appearing distressed and asking for help.
Sources also claim she has no memory issues and should not be confined to the facility’s memory unit.
Williams Claims She Passed Mental Competency Evaluations

The Blast reported that Wendy Williams was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital for a cognitive evaluation after pleading for help from her assisted living facility.
Her family sees this hospital visit as the beginning of her rescue, hoping those responsible will be held accountable.
Meanwhile, Williams appeared on Good Day New York on March 11 after her hospital visit. She called into a live segment from the hospital and said she received mental competency tests.
Williams exclaimed, "I passed with flying colors!" Afterward, she asked her caretaker, Ginalia Monterrosa, who accompanied her to the hospital, to "elaborate on everything."
Monterrosa said, "She had those tests, she's been deemed she is not incapacitated. I think it's great news, and it’s public, and everybody knows factually that Wendy's not incapacitated."
When asked if she was satisfied with the mental evaluation tests, Williams said, "Absolutely," before adding, "That is what I want, and that is what I got."
