Nipsey Hussle's ex-girlfriend secured a substantial win in the custody battle over their daughter with the rapper's family.
Tanisha Foster won joint physical and legal custody of her daughter after striking a deal with the late rapper's family following years of back-and-forth.
Nipsey Hussle's mom and siblings were appointed legal guardians of Emani after he was shot dead in March 2019.
Nipsey Hussle's Brother And Tanisha Foster Are Now Co-Guardians Of Emani

Nipsey Hussle's sister, Samantha Ashgedom, and mother, Angelique Smith, have decided to resign as co-guardians of Emani, making his brother, Sam Ashgedom, the family's sole guardian.
The court has now granted joint physical and legal custody to both Tanisha and Sam, with Emani spending 60 percent of her time with her mother and the remainder with her uncle.
According to the court's ruling, Tanisha and Sam will share equal rights to make decisions that serve Emani's best interests, and Tanisha will retain her parental rights concerning Emani.
The agreement outlines that Emani will reside with both parties at their current residences. It also stipulates that Emani is to remain involved in all ongoing "academic and extracurricular activities" while under the care of Tanisha and Sam.
As reported by In Touch, a joint stipulation was filed on Wednesday, March 5, involving Nipsey Hussle's family. The document was signed by his brother, Sa; his sister, Samantha; his mother, Angelique; and Tanisha.
Tanisha's Earlier Request To Depose Sam Was Thrown Out

The rapper's ex-wife earlier encountered a significant setback in her legal case following the Los Angeles Superior Court's denial of her request to depose Nipsey's brother.
As shared by The Blast, court documents indicate that the judge dismissed her petition, citing a lack of sufficient evidence to support her request.
The now-settled dispute has lasted over a year and has seen much of the filings heavily redacted. Since Nipsey's tragic passing at 33 on March 31, 2019, his family has taken on the role of co-guardians of Emani, a position that Tanisha has been challenging in her attempts to overturn.
Unfortunately for her, the trial date to decide Emani's guardianship, previously set for February 25, was also canceled. But all that is in the past now as she now has her daughter back.
The Rapper's Ex Previously Believed The Arrangement By Nipsey's Family Was In Emani's Best Interest

Tanisha filed a petition to terminate her daughter Emani's guardianship, explaining she initially agreed after Nipsey Hussle's tragic passing, thinking it was in Emani's best interest. Following several years of legal struggles over guardianship, she finally filed a petition in 2022 to terminate it.
The mother-of-one cited financial difficulties and a strong desire to provide Emani with the stable environment she once had.
Tanisha expressed frustration over perceived broken promises from Nipsey's family regarding her relationship with her daughter and claimed to have received reassurances that Emani's welfare would be prioritized.
In her petition, she alleged that Nipsey's family used their wealth and influence to limit her visitation rights and financial support, hindering her ability to be actively involved in Emani's life.
Tanisha deeply longed to reclaim her role as Emani's primary parent, noting that Emani often asks when they can live together. She urged the court to terminate the guardianship, asserting that there are no circumstances in her life that should prevent her from being with her daughter.

The struggle for guardianship of Emani involved significant efforts from his family, particularly his brother and sister. Samantha, Nipsey's sister, initiated the legal process to secure guardianship after expressing concerns about the parenting capabilities of Emani's mother.
In her application, Samantha emphasized her dedication to Emani's well-being and the importance of keeping her connected to Nipsey's family.
Although there was substantial opposition from Tanisha, Nipsey's family ultimately prevailed in court. In October 2019, a judge appointed them Emani's legal guardians, ensuring she would have a stable and supportive home.
Nipsey Hussle's Second Baby Mama, Lauren London, Described Life As A Single Mom

While Tanisha spent years in court in the aftermath of Hussle's tragic death, Lauren seemingly carried on by single-handedly raising her child with the rapper and her 13-year-old son Kameron Carter, whom she shares with rapper Lil Wayne.
As shared by The Blast in 2023, at the press tour for her Netflix film "You People," London opened up about her experiences as a single mom. She shared her philosophy on parenting during a podcast, emphasizing her desire to prepare her children for the realities of life.
Acknowledging the challenges of motherhood, she strives to maintain a balance between softness and discipline, often reflecting on the duality of her approach.
London recalled that while she sometimes feels she might be too lenient, she also recognizes the need to instill responsibility in her kids, identifying herself as an "old-school mother."
Furthermore, London highlighted the importance of focusing on the positives in life, expressing gratitude for her family's health and her ability to create meaningful days.
She affirmed her intention to make the best of her circumstances, thus demonstrating a realistic yet hopeful outlook on her journey as a mother.
Congratulations to Nipsey Hussle's ex-girlfriend, Tanisha Foster, on her reunion with her daughter, Emani!
