Even Nick and Vanessa Lachey Couldn't Save The 'Love Is Blind' Season 8 Reunion

Hosted by Nick Lachey and his wife, Vanessa Lachey, the "Love Is Blind" season 8 reunion seemed desperate to improve its reputation as the most "boring" season yet.

Unfortunately, it ultimately fell flat. Even Netflix producers seemed to give up on the dull cast, choosing to highlight top moments from previous seasons in order to bloat its runtime.

Only One Couple From Season 8 Got Married

Taylor and Daniel seemed to be one of the most drama-free couples of the season, if you don't count the pre-honeymoon scuffle where Taylor accused Dan of following her on Instagram prior to meeting on the show. Taylor even tried to make an awkward joke about the gaffe to kick off the reunion, setting the mood for things to come.

Ultimately, there was nothing new to report. They met, got married, celebrated Christmas together, bought a house, and will surely be added to those "Find Out Which 'Love Is Blind' Couples Are Still Together" articles that float around every time a new season pops up.

Virginia and Devin Rehashed The Same Arguments From The Show

Well, it looks like they didn’t need that prenup after all. The show spent a lot of time focusing on that aspect of the relationship, and now it’s easier to see why, with Virginia’s admission that Devin didn’t want to discuss his “personal values” on camera. However, the difference in those values ultimately led her to turn him down at the altar.

Devin responded by saying that couples “didn’t need to agree on everything,” and while that’s true, it seems that there might have been just too many differences for Virginia to ignore.

The reunion also made a big show of teasing a “note” that Virginia found from his ex-girlfriend the night before the wedding, but Devin said that he sees her more as a best friend than an ex, and the letter was just wishing him well. There was also an issue about how he didn’t tell her about a check for their wedding, but ultimately, Devin seemed to just shut down both arguments and didn’t seem to be in a mood to talk.

The most animated he got all night was when Virginia claimed he ghosted her after the wedding. He said he didn’t. Molly and Madison chimed in to say that he even told them that he had ghosted, or rather, “stopped communicating with” Virginia. He said, "Nuh-uh." They said, "Yuh-huh."

And everyone rolled their eyes and checked how long of this reunion we still had to go.

I Completely Forgot About Sara and Ben

Not going to lie, I wrote this article based on notes that I jotted down on my phone and completely forgot to include Sara and Ben. Are they really just that forgettable? Sara has been chewed out online for her “activism” – and rightfully so – while Ben has been called out for allegedly giving his business cards advertising his YouTube page to his hookups. So neither one really looked great going into the reunion.

They brought up the time that a girl on TikTok called Ben out on social media, which was already addressed during the show, but it’s what happened after the cameras stopped rolling that seemed to be the most consequential for their breakup. After the cameras had stopped rolling, Ben was supposed to travel down to Nashville with her, where she was doing a travel nursing gig.

However, once she got there, he apparently just ghosted her and decided not to move in with her, despite all of their planning. This lack of communication seemed to continue after Ben got advice from another “Love Is Blind” alum – Jimmy from season 6 – who encouraged him to be on good terms with her and to practice reunion questions so they knew what to say in advance.

It's supposed to be surprising – shocking, even – but it doesn’t really seem all that out of character for a guy who supposedly gives his business cards out to his hookups.

Monica and Joey Provided The Biggest Surprise of the Night

Okay, I’m not going to lie. I was a bit surprised at just how hard Monica dug into Joey. Yes, the couple never said “I love you” to each other prior to the wedding, but it seemed that she was really embarrassed by her edit, in which she seemed to play the girl who had absolutely no clue that the guy she was about to be marrying just wasn’t that into her.

To his credit, it seemed that Joey at least seemed to try? But after Monica’s sister shut him down earlier in the season, it seemed like he wasn’t really going to put all of his effort into fitting in with her family.

Plus, he was still probably unnerved by the communal sock bin. Aren’t we all?

Lauren Proves That She Is Still Too Good For Dave

Say what you want: Dave was always looking to get out of his relationship with Lauren. It’s not clear why – maybe love just isn’t blind after all? – but they split because a guy told all of his friends and family that he was dating Lauren right before she went on the show.

Lauren insisted that it was just a “situationship” and was never serious, but Dave still doubled down and refused to let her meet his friends and family. Obviously, that led to a breakup before they could even walk down the aisle.

At the reunion, absolutely no one was surprised when Dave “appeared” remorseful and revealed that the guys’ “true colors” were known – that he was just a guy making up all this drama for clout and a chance to appear on a Netflix TV show. Dave played the expected, “I’m so sorry I messed up” card while Lauren ended their segment by asking people online to lighten up and stop giving him so much hate, arguing that he was neither a “narcissist” nor a “manipulator.”

Of course he’s not, Lauren. Don’t give him so much credit. Those titles belong to his sister, whom we will unfortunately never meet.

What Is Even Going On With This Mason, Meg, Alex, Madison Thing?

Madison and Meg were after Mason in the pods, whereas Alex and Madison had their own connection. Madison turned down Mason to go after Alex, but he rejected her after she was upset that he wouldn’t bash Mason. Meg decided not to get engaged to Mason because she felt like she was his second pick.

Now that that’s clear, Meg and Mason decided to date after the show – several times, in fact – but apparently, it just didn’t work out.

This then led to Alex saying that Madison acted differently on dates with him than on dates with Mason and that he felt that she was “manipulative” during the experience. Mason agreed and said that Alex should have been “a little more cautious” with her.

Madison also claims that Alex tried to date her after the show, but she rejected him. She also said that he was a completely “different person” when the cameras stopped rolling and pulled screenshots out of her dress that appeared to show him making fun of Mason.

Meg got involved, and there was a whole lot of blaming and pointing fingers. Everyone’s eyes seemed to glaze over at this point, and surprisingly, even Vanessa Lachey didn’t seem to know what to say. When you have four people yelling about who-said-and-didn't-say-what, it's hard to remember that these are working adults and not high school students.

Wait... We Got ANOTHER Engagement?!

To close out the show, producers brought out season 6 alum AD and "Love Is Blind: UK" reality star Ollie in order to promote season 3 of "Perfect Match," a show that combines singles who couldn't find love on Netflix's various other reality dating shows.

Apparently, AD and Ollie were both cast in season 3. Did they get together? Well, spoiler alert, they did, because the reunion ends with a video of Ollie dropping down in front of one knee and proposing to AD. While we know she says yes, we don't know if they "won" the show (if people really even care about that sort of thing).

It's definitely an interesting move by Netflix. Instead of waiting to tease a proposal throughout the season, they let us know right off the bat that they got engaged, probably with the hope that viewers will tune in to see their love story unfold.

Will it work? We'll just have to wait until season 3 drops (probably this summer) to find out.

And for those waiting for season 9 of "Love Is Blind," while no release date has been announced, they closed out the reunion with the reveal that the next season will take place in Denver, Colorado.

Are you looking forward to another season? Do you think that this reunion was better than the last? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
