Zooey Deschanel's Husband Files for Divorce After She Goes Public With New Relationship

Zooey Deschanel is on her way to officially becoming a single woman days after she went Instagram official with her new "Property Brothers" boyfriend.
According to records obtained by The Blast, Jacob Pechenik filed to divorce the former "New Girl" star Tuesday in L.A. County after four years of marriage.
Jacob is asking for joint physical and legal custody of the couples two children.
The split seems to be amicable, in the documents Jacob is saying support should be paid to both parties usually indicating there is a prenup.
He is also asking to split the attorney fees.
Deschanel and her producer husband called it quits earlier this year and announced in a joint statement they were ending the marriage.
"After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners, and co-parents rather than life partners," they said in a statement.
Zooey, who is the sister of actress Emily Deschanel, and Jacob share two children together -- daughter, Elsie Otter Pechenik, 4, and son, Charlie Wolf Pechenik, 2.
The former couple secretly wed in 2015, shortly before welcoming Elsie into the world.
The filing by Pechenik is interesting, seeing as Deschanel has gone public with her new relationship with "Property Brothers" star Jonathan Scott.
Along with being seen during an episode of "Dancing With the Stars," they both recently went on a double date with other "Property Brothers" star Drew Scott at Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights.
Deschanel could be seen jumping into her boyfriend's arms, and definitely looked to be having a frightfully good time.
She's already accepted in the family, as Drew has spoken about how excited he is for his brother's new romance.
Deschanel and Scott met on an episode of "Carpool Karaoke" and have been making beautiful music together ever since.
