Jessica Simpson's musical return is making waves, as the singer appears to hint that estranged husband Eric Johnson was unfaithful in her explosive new track, "Leave."

Simpson and Johnson separated last year after a decade of marriage and share three children together.

Although neither Simpson nor Johnson have publicly confirmed the exact reasons behind their split, the lyrics in Jessica Simpson's latest single strongly imply infidelity may have been involved.

In the emotionally charged song, Simpson sings:

"What we had was magic/Now you've made it tragic/Giving her what you gave to me/Now the well that you drank from is empty.

Your weakness made me lonely/Unholy matrimony/Did you do to her what you did to me. Was she on her knees/She's everything but me."

The track intensifies as Simpson appears to accuse Johnson of being mentally absent even during intimacy, as she sings about him thinking of another woman while with her:

"I want you to leave/I don't even wanna breathe the air you breathe/I am stronger on my own/So hold on/I'm letting you go."

Further lyrics highlight Simpson's painful questions and the humiliation she experienced, singing:

"How'd this even happen/I can just imagine/I wanna know then again I don't/She get you off dressing up in my clothes/Don't say you love me/Don't even try to touch me."

In perhaps her most cutting line, Simpson asserts:

"If you were me you'd fall to pieces/I make heartbreak look damn easy."

Neither Simpson nor Johnson have spoken out since the song's release.

The former reality TV star collaborated with singer-songwriter JD McPherson, known for his retro-inspired sound, to create what those close to her are calling a "gritty" and raw album. Before its release, sources close to Simpson likened the project to Alanis Morissette’s iconic album, "Jagged Little Pill."

"She is singing from the heart and there is a lot of pain there, she goes very deep," an insider revealed at the time. "She has called it the 'soundtrack to my soul.' It is a bit like the Alanis Morissette 'Jagged Little Pill' album. Very raw and full of wild emotion. She will shock the pants off her fans."

Simpson previously hinted that her highly anticipated comeback album, her first in 15 years, would explore deeply personal themes. "This comeback is personal, it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve," she shared on social media.

She returned to her country roots, recording her new music in Nashville, Tennessee. Sources described it explicitly as a "revenge" and "heartbreak" album written during the unraveling of her marriage to Johnson.

"When Jessica writes music, she pours her heart into it and has no filter," added the source. "It's very personal. So the album will really be about the struggles she has been through at home. It is super emotional and shares her side of the story."
