Chelsea recently opened up to The Blast about the benefits of spring training as a gentle reintroduction to the season.
"Spring training is a good kind of ease back into season because it's day games," Chelsea, who recently partnered with OFF! to help families reclaim outdoor time, explained. "They're like practice games, so it's not as intense. And then, they're mostly at 1:00 p.m., so it's like everyone's home by 5:00 p.m."
She added, "It's more of a normal, like, he's gone by 6:00 or 7:00 a.m., but he's home by dinner time, which is rare for us with baseball, so I really enjoy that."
This lighter schedule during spring training allows the Freeman family to spend more quality time together before the full intensity of the regular season begins. The Dodgers will soon be heading to Tokyo, marking the official start of a busy season filled with travel and tight schedules.

For the Freemans, staying connected as a family is a top priority, even with the challenges of Freddie’s MLB commitments. Chelsea shared that homeschooling their oldest son helps them remain together during the season's constant travel.
"Our oldest, he's homeschooled. So that [allows us to] stay together as a family because [baseball requires] so much traveling nonstop," Chelsea told The Blast.
The Freemans also make the most of small moments, finding ways to connect amid their hectic schedules.
"It's kind of like small things like getting a coffee together before going to the field," Chelsea revealed. "They only have one or two off days a month. Most of the times they're traveling, but if you do get an off day, make sure that you go on a date."
She also admitted that "lots of FaceTimes and calls" help keep the couple and family connected.
Family Time Means Everything To Chelsea Freeman

OFF! has teamed up with Chelsea, a devoted Little League mom, entrepreneur, and social media influencer, to celebrate a new partnership with Little League as the spring quickly approaches.
As the wife of a professional baseball player and a mother of three, Chelsea spends countless hours at the ballpark. She is partnering with the OFF! brand to showcase the benefits of Little League and emphasize the importance of insect bite protection, especially with Opening Day just around the corner.
How OFF! Helps The Freeman Family During The Buggy Season

Having experienced firsthand the challenges of buggy spring and summer days at the field, Freeman brings valuable insight to the campaign.
“I’ve learned that negotiations and compromises come with raising three energetic boys,” Chelsea explained. “When my oldest son started Little League, getting outside was no longer a battle, it became something we all looked forward to as a family."
She continued, "But with baseball season comes mosquitoes and ticks, and keeping my kids protected without complaints was a real challenge. OFF! for Adults & Kids helps avoid negotiating; it’s fragrance-free and non-greasy, making it easy for us to stay protected at the ballpark.”
