Paige Bueckers & Madison Reed Drop A Game-Changing Hair Shade: 'UConnic Blonde'

College basketball star Paige Bueckers has a new teammate off the court!

The UConn star and senior has teamed up with premium hair color brand Madison Reed to launch "UConnic Blonde," a signature hair color inspired by her iconic look and passionate fanbase.

This first-of-its-kind shade embodies self-expression, confidence, and bold individuality—qualities Bueckers showcases both on and off the court. Rooted in her journey and connection with fans, "UConnic Blonde" is designed to empower anyone looking to rock a championship-worthy glow.

Prior to the end of her final season at UConn, the basketball star added a new NIL partnership that's turning heads. Her partnership with hair brand Madison Reed is the first in her industry.

On Thursday morning, the hair color brand and basketball star shared the news about the new limited-edition shade of ColorWonder Demi-Permanent Hair Color. The color is the first shade to be created specifically for a female athlete and is inspired by Bueckers signature blonde hair.

"We're proud to be announcing some exciting firsts with the launch of UConnic Blonde ColorWonder Demi-Permanent Hair Color - the first time a beauty brand has created a signature hair color shade with a woman athlete and Paige's first beauty collab," Amy Errett, Founder + CEO of Madison Reed shared with The Blast.

Bueckers shared the exciting news with a fun video on her Instagram page Thursday morning.

"Having my own signature shade of blonde by @madisonreed? That’s UConnic," she wrote in her caption. "Introducing UConnic Blonde, the newest addition to Madison Reed’s ColorWonder Demi-Permanent Hair Color line - named by YOU! Available exclusively @ultabeauty."

It didn't take long for the post to grab tons of attention with likes and comments.

Ulta Beauty dropped into the comments to share, "a gorgeous, uconnic blonde shade." Many other positive comments followed, as well as lots of fire emojis.

Bueckers, along with teammates Azzi Fudd, Ice Brady, and Moren Cheli, are the faces of the Madison Reed campaign.

According to a press release obtained by The Blast, "Driven by Madison Reed’s commitment to empowerment, the partnership has redefined what it means to support women athletes offering more than just endorsement, but real opportunities for entrepreneurial growth."

The press release continued, "These opportunities include providing Team ColorWonder with equity stake in the Madison Reed business, opportunities to franchise a Madison Reed Hair Color Bar in the future, internships with Madison Reed for class credit at UConn and exposure to Madison Reed's internal and external networks."

Bueckers shared a little about being a Madison Reed Ambassador and creating the iconic "UConnic Blonde" shade.

"I wanted to create a blonde as cool and iconic as UConn’s fans and send a message that confidence doesn’t mean looking a certain way, it means expressing yourself authentically. I’m all about showing up as myself and not putting myself in a box – I can have pink hair one day and go back to my blonde another. My blonde hair color feels true to my journey here and something I wanted to share with the world as my first beauty collaboration.” said Madison Reed Ambassador and Impact Advisor Paige Bueckers, according to a press release.

“As I approach this next chapter, personally and professionally, I’m grateful to Madison Reed for the opportunity to join their team and learn through this product development process and for giving me, and so many others, the confidence to express the different sides of myself authentically.”

Madison Reed will be giving back through this partnership with Bueckers and UConn. The hair color brand is proud to donate $10,000 to the UConn Women's Basketball Team. They will also be donating a portion of the "UConnic Blonde" sales to Good Sports, Inc., an organization that "drives equitable access in youth sports and physical activity by supplying youth organizations in high-need communities with the sports gear necessary to cut overhead costs and help children stay connected to their communities."
