Kaitlyn Bristowe Opens Up About Body Dysmorphia In Bikini Photo Post

Kaitlyn Bristowe is embracing self-love while acknowledging her ongoing struggles with body dysmorphia!

The former “Bachelorette,” 39, took to Instagram on Monday, February 17, to share swimsuit snapshots from her recent trip to Mexico, pairing them with a candid reflection on her body image.

“Not me having body dysmorphia and then posting bikini pics,” Bristowe captioned the post, which featured a white bikini mirror selfie as the first slide.

Despite the internal conflict, she added a note of self-acceptance: “I don’t get me. But I love me. And I love family time. Adios Mexico. Back to my babies.”

Bristowe’s post included multiple bikini-clad moments from her trip, from lounging poolside to playful water slide rides. She donned a black bikini top with pink bottoms in another mirror selfie and later slipped into a bright pink one-piece for a nighttime swim.

Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise and shared their own body image journeys. One follower wrote, “Sometimes we love how we look and sometimes we hate it – I blame our hormones. Btw, you look amazing!”

Bristowe has long been open about her struggles with body dysmorphia. In March 2024, ahead of a swimsuit photoshoot, she reflected on how her mindset around her body had evolved.

“Five years ago, I would have thought I needed to eat air and grilled chicken to prep,” she wrote on Instagram. “Right now, in this moment, I’m thinking, ‘Ugh, I love snacks. Eating these snacks isn’t going to change my body overnight AND … working out and not feeding my body will only make me miserable.’”

She added, “I’m gonna be hard on myself no matter what, but let’s lean into alllll the feelings and try to love on this body that I keep strong and healthy.”

Over the years, Bristowe has also been candid about changes in her appearance and the criticism she’s received. In a February 2024 Instagram Story, she responded to those who told her to stop “doing stuff” to her face.

“I will never,” she stated. “I love skincare. I love having bright, tight, glowy skin. I love it.”

In December 2024, she posted a side-by-side comparison of herself over the years, emphasizing that her biggest transformation had been internal.

“Believe it or not, I’ve done more work on the inside,” she wrote. “You can’t physically see that, but I’ve never felt it more.”

Bristowe has faced online trolls criticizing her appearance, but she isn’t letting negativity get to her.

“To the people who always wanna comment, ‘You were so much prettier before all the work you’ve had done,’ I suggest you do the important work on the inside before judging what’s on the outside,” she stated.
