Kylie Jenner Under Fire For 'Rude' Behavior While Being Introduced To Elton John By Timothée Chalamet

Kylie Jenner garnered the ire of social media users over her behavior while she was being introduced to Sir Elton John at the Oscars.

The business mogul was at the ceremony with her “Dune” star boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, although they did not walk the red carpet together.

The duo were later seen packing on the PDA amid stares from other attendees but have yet to go red carpet or Instagram official as a couple.

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have been dating since 2023, and sources close to them described their relationship as “serious” and “fun.”

Jenner faced online backlash over her decision to remain seated while being introduced to music icon Elton John at the 2025 Oscars.

The beauty mogul was introduced to the legendary singer by her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet during a commercial break at the ceremony. However, rather than standing up to greet John, Jenner only stretched out her hand to him for a handshake. The singer then chose to lift Jenner's hands midway and kiss them in a gentlemanly way, turning what would have been an awkward handshake into a cute interaction.

While John seemed to have no issues with Jenner being seated during the interaction, many social media users felt Jenner's act showed a lack of courtesy towards John, given his legendary status and age.

Trooping to People Magazine's post of the interaction, they slammed Jenner's action as “disrespectful” and “classless.”

“Classless as always,” a user wrote, while another commented, “disrespectful.”

More individuals also called out the cosmetics mogul over her actions.

“That is Sir Elton John; you stand when being greeted to him,” someone wrote.

Two other individuals commented, “Didn't stand for Elton John?? SMH” and “Not just because of Elton John but out of respect and manners, you stand when you greet someone.”

One more person wrote, “I have no problem whatsoever with the Kardashians but, stand up when being introduced to anyone, especially Sir Elton John. I mean come on…He's a living legend. That just didn't sit right with me.”

Jenner's mother, Kris, also got called out, with many claiming she didn't teach her daughter manners.

“I guess @krisjenner forgot to teach them that part where you stand up when you greet an elder,” someone remarked.

Another wrote, “Wow, mama kris - did you not teach your daughter any manners?”

Later that night, Jenner and Chalamet were seen packing on the PDA.

The show of love happened while the Kylie Cosmetics founder and her “Dune” star boyfriend were chatting with the actor’s “A Complete Unknown” co-star Edward Norton and his wife Shauna Robertson.

They passionately locked lips despite still being in the presence of the married couple, a move that showed how deeply enamored they were with each other.

The duo also got cozy with themselves during the Vanity Fair Oscars party, where they both had on different outfits.

Chamalet was previously seen wearing a custom yellow Givenchy suit and switched to a custom black suit and white shirt for the party.

Meanwhile, Jenner was dressed in a black Miu Miu gown at the Oscars but opted for a more revealing black gown for the party.

Although the couple spent most of the Oscar ceremony together, they did not walk the red carpet together, nor have they done so in the past.

They are also yet to go Instagram official, despite going strong since early 2023. Last year, a source close to the duo revealed that they are a “great couple” and “everyone loves them together,” per People Magazine.

The insider also shared that the duo have a good relationship with each other's family and have learnt how to balance their career with their romance.

“He’s close with her family and she’s close with his family,” the source said at the time. "It’s very serious, but also a fun relationship.”

They added, “They’ve really been able to figure out a good balance between working and spending quality time together.”

The reality TV star's Oscar outing comes after she was faced with the devastating loss of her friend and hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero.

Guerrero's sister announced the sad news on February 22, revealing that the hairstylist died "suddenly" and "unexpectedly" at age 34.

Jenner has since broken her silence on Guerrero's death, branding him a "light in [her] life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support."

She concluded her lengthy emotional tribute shared on Instagram, writing, "I would give anything for one more deep talk. I’m going to miss you so much. more than any words can say. 222 my angel."
