Joanna and Chip Gaines recently took their youngest son, Crew, on a surprise trip to Walt Disney World, and while the day was full of magic, it also came with some laugh-out-loud moments, especially when it came to the couple’s very different reactions to Disney’s thrill rides.
On Thursday, February 27, Joanna Gaines shared a hilarious Instagram post highlighting just how much she loves roller coasters and just how much her husband, Chip Gaines, does not.
Joanna Loves The Thrills, But Chip…Not So Much

The "Fixer Upper" star posted two collages showcasing their reactions to Disney’s roller coasters.
In the first set of images, Joanna is seen beaming with joy, her hands in the air as she fully embraces the excitement. Her thrill-seeking spirit is evident in every frame, capturing her infectious energy on the rides.
But in the second slide, the mood shifts completely. Chip, despite sporting a Mickey Mouse T-shirt, looks far less enthusiastic.
Joanna Gaines Roasts Chip Over Hilarious Roller Coaster Reactions

The photos capture him clenching his jaw, squinting his eyes, and even looking downright terrified at moments. Joanna also included a few shots of him making goofy faces, adding to the comedic effect.
“One of us LOVES roller coasters, and one of us does not [rolling on the floor laughing emoji] [right arrow emoji] @chipgaines,” she captioned the post, playfully calling out her husband.
Even Disney Parks’ official Instagram account couldn’t resist jumping in on the fun, commenting, “There’s always small world @chipgaines [grinning face with sweat emoji].”
A Magical Gaines Family Adventure

It turns out the Gaines family took that suggestion to heart.
In another Instagram post, Joanna shared a montage of their Disney adventures, including a relaxing ride on It’s a Small World, much more Chip’s speed. The video also featured clips of him enjoying other gentler attractions, including the Slinky Dog Dash ride in Toy Story Land.
The trip wasn’t just about Chip’s roller coaster struggles because it was also about making magical memories for Crew, 6.
The video showcased the youngest Gaines sibling taking in all the sights, hopping on rides, and watching the iconic Disney fireworks with his parents. “We surprised Crew with a trip to @waltdisneyworld and we ALL had the very best day. It’s no wonder they call it the most magical place on earth [sparkles emoji],” Joanna captioned the heartwarming post.

Ahead of their trip, Joanna spoke exclusively to PEOPLE in January about parenting their five children. In addition to Crew, the couple shares sons Drake, 20, and Duke, 16, as well as daughters Ella, 18, and Emmie, 15.
“With my older kids, I feel like it all went so fast,” she shared. “Having Crew makes me feel younger and really anchors me. It’s been such a gift.”
She also emphasized her commitment to making meaningful moments with her family. “I’ve made a conscious decision to create micro-moments, to feel in the now with our family, just be really more intentional with our time together,” she said. “And hopefully, try and slow it all down a bit!”
Joanna Gaines’ Favorite Design Trend Is Making A Chic Comeback

When it comes to home decor, Joanna Gaines has an undeniable influence. The "Fixer Upper" star has a knack for reviving classic design elements and making them feel fresh again. Now, she’s putting her stamp of approval on a trend that’s making a major comeback: scalloped designs.
"If I could have scalloped everything, I think I would," Gaines shared in a Magnolia blog, reinforcing just how much she loves the timeless shape. And with its playful curves and vintage charm, it’s easy to see why scalloped edges are resurging in popularity.
Scalloped designs aren’t new as they’ve been around for decades, notably making waves during the Art Deco movement of the 1920s. But while the trend has popped up in various home aesthetics over the years, its recent revival feels different. This time, it’s less about ornate detailing and more about softening the modern, straight-edged minimalist aesthetic that has dominated interior design for so long.
Design experts agree that homeowners are craving warmth, texture, and a more inviting atmosphere in their spaces. The scalloped trend plays into this shift, offering curves and playful elements that balance out structured lines. Gaines’ endorsement only adds to the appeal, cementing scalloped accents as a must-have design feature.
