Kim Kardashian Relives Her Most Embarrassing School Moment, And It’s All Kourtney’s Fault

Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian have had their fair share of fashion disagreements over the years, but their sisterly bond has always prevailed.
On the Thursday, February 27 episode of "The Kardashians," fans got to see how Kim and Kourtney smoothed things over after their Dolce & Gabbana drama, and revisited a much earlier fashion battle from their childhood.
While shooting the Dolce & Gabbana x SKIMS campaign, Kim Kardashian brought up a long-standing fashion betrayal that she admitted she has “never gotten over.”
Kim Kardashian's Legendary ‘Cow Jeans’ Incident

“I was in sixth grade at a new school, I didn’t know anyone, and I wanted to look really cool and fit in. And I borrowed Kourtney’s jeans that had these, like, cow patches on them,” Kim recalled.
The camera then cut to Kourtney, who was in a separate room getting her hair and makeup done, as she gave her own take on the infamous event. “We called them the cow jeans, and they were vintage Levi’s,” Kourtney explained.
But it wasn’t just the fact that Kim borrowed them without asking that caused an issue; it was how Kourtney decided to get them back.
According to Kim, a “pissed” Kourtney, who was attending a different school at the time, “barges in my classroom” mid-lesson and demands the jeans back, forcing Kim to swap them for a pair of “the lamest shorts.”
“I was so embarrassed, and I have never gotten over what happened to me in sixth grade,” Kim admitted.
Laughing at the memory, Kourtney joked, “Is that why she brought me here? To get revenge on the jeans?”
A Lifetime Of Fashion Feuds

Kim reassured fans that despite their past (and present) fashion fights, nothing would ever truly come between them.
“For anyone that thinks that we wouldn’t even be cool because we got into a fashion fight over what we wear is crazy,” Kim said. “That’s what we were doing in elementary school.”
And Kim wasn’t exaggerating. This wasn’t the first time the infamous cow jeans story had been brought up in "The Kardashians" universe. Caitlyn Jenner previously recounted the tale in 2010, revealing that Kourtney had no hesitation calling Kim out publicly.
“In high school, Kimberly stole some of Kourtney’s jeans from her closet. Kourtney walked into her classroom, and in front of everyone she said, ‘Kimberly has my jeans. I want them back!’” Caitlyn recalled, per PEOPLE.
From ‘Cow Jeans’ To Dolce & Gabbana Drama

Of course, the sisters’ fashion feuds have only gotten bigger with time.
In May 2022, Kourtney made headlines for wearing a Dolce & Gabbana minidress at her lavish Italian wedding to Travis Barker. Just a year later, Kim announced a business deal with the luxury fashion house, leading to an emotional rift between the sisters. Kourtney accused Kim of “copying” her wedding aesthetic for profit, even breaking down in tears over the situation.
Fast forward to the latest episode, and Kim took the opportunity to extend an olive branch by inviting Kourtney to star in her Dolce & Gabbana x SKIMS campaign.
With the fashion drama seemingly behind them, it’s clear that no matter how many clothing-related fights they have, Kim and Kourtney will always find a way back to each other, even if it takes decades to recover from a pair of cow-print jeans.
Kim Kardashian Celebrates SKIMS' NYC Flagship: 'A Crazy, Crazy Honor'

In December, Kim Kardashian marked a major milestone for her shapewear and lingerie brand, SKIMS, with the opening of its first-ever flagship store in New York City. The store, located at 647 Fifth Avenue, is a dream realized for Kardashian, who described the experience as an immense privilege.
"Just being on Fifth Avenue is such a crazy, crazy honor. I don't care where you are in New York, you just have the New York energy. You just feel that when you're [in the city]. I really wanted to bring our SKIMS world to New York and have the customer come in and feel like maybe they were in a different world when they walked in," Kardashian shared.
The store’s design stays true to SKIMS’ signature aesthetic: neutral, minimalist, and deeply immersive. The 6,570-square-foot space, designed by Rafael de Cárdenas, Ltd., is a reflection of Kardashian’s own taste, featuring a muted color palette dominated by soft earth tones such as chocolate brown and sand tan.
