"The Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger has been sentenced to two years in prison with one suspended following a jury's guilty verdict in her DUI case.
Karen Huger was first arrested in March 2024 after crashing her Maserati into street signs in Maryland. The reality star was found guilty of driving under the influence and of several other driving offenses in December 2024.
Karen Huger Sentenced To One Year In Prison For Driving Under The Influence
According to Fox 5 DC, a Maryland judge sentenced Huger to two years in prison with one year suspended following her DUI case in 2024.
The prosecution, which recommended a six-month sentence, slammed the Bravo veteran before her sentencing for taking zero accountability. They also referenced Huger's previous driving infractions, which occurred between 2006 and 2011.
"The fact that Ms. Huger has repeatedly been given the benefit of another chance on three separate occasions demonstrates that she has not learned anything from her prior arrests," the prosecutor wrote. "In fact, it appears as if she has been emboldened."

Huger missed the season 9 "RHOP" reunion to enter an in-patient recovery program. During part one of the three-part special, the mother of two addressed her cast with a pre-recorded video.
"I am going away to a treatment center to address taking antidepressants and drinking," she said. "I want to get to the bottom of it."
Several of her castmates, including Dr. Wendy Osefo and Gizelle Bryant, questioned the timing of her recovery program.
"It's kind of interesting that she's doing it before her sentencing," Osefo said. "And I'm wondering, 'Is she doing it because she feels like she needs help, or is she doing it because she feels it will lighten the blow of the sentence?'"
In an open letter to the court, Huger's legal team explained that the reality of her public trial put things into perspective for her, which ultimately sparked her decision to seek treatment.
"During the trial, she could not turn off the testimony or the body cameras. She could not get up and walk out of the room nor look at her phone," the document read. "The trial was a wake-up call that inspired Ms. Huger to take the dramatic step of entering a 28-day in-patient rehabilitation program: Beachside in West Palm Beach."

Fans Are Reacting To Huger's Year-Long Prison Sentence

Once Huger's prison sentence was revealed online, "Real Housewives" fans rushed to different threads to share their thoughts.
Several users called the reality star out for her lack of remorse, while others revealed how they didn't feel sorry for her.
"All Karen had to do was go to rehab and be remorseful," one user wrote on X. "But instead, she was arrogant and acted like she wasn't at fault. The judge saw through that, and now you're going to prison. Congratulations."
"I don't feel bad for Karen," another person wrote. "You out here driving under the influence four times and could've killed somebody. Frankly, two years [isn't] enough time."

"As much as it cucks, [four] DUIs is no joke. Thank goodness no life was harmed or taken in the end," they finished.
