Brands Flooded The Comment Section With Jokes

Just as before Duo died and following his death, the brands came out in droves to leave witty and hilarious comments, with many helping their own marketing efforts.

Peppa Pig oinked, "The legend RETURNS," and Furby added a simple, "huh?" Who knew Duo had beef with Furby, but apparently based on Duo's sassy reply, there just might be. "You thought I was going to let YOU be the favorite? Absolutely not."

Kit Kat wrote, "Duo just needed a little break," and Mattress Firm said, "Duo needed a nap." And that's just part of the brand's storylines in Duolingo's comment section.

"Guess you don't need help cleaning up!" Tide Rescue shared. Charmin added, "Best news I've ever seen while scrolling on the toilet."

Scrub Daddy Joined In On The Fun With Their Own Video

Scrub Daddy shared a video on TikTok shortly after Duo's death to inform fans that Duo left behind some kids. And now that Duo's back, Scrub Daddy wants what's rightfully theirs.

In the video simply captioned, "Duolingo, I'm fuming," fans get to see what happens when you fake your own death leaving children behind.

Written on the video is more of the story, "Heard you faked your own death...good one. Get your big bird a-- back here and take care of your children."

Dominoes hopped into the comment section to say, "I hate it when mom and dad fight." Peppa Pig added, "My dad did the same."

And there's more comedy where that came from!

"You deserve better," Jack in the Box wrote. Intuit TurboTax added, "Do we think Duo only came back for the child tax credit?"

Squishmallows Took The Flowers Back!

Other brands also created their own videos to join in on the Duolingo saga. One page that didn't seem too happy about the fake death was Squishmallows.

Simply captioned, "Flowers aren't cheap," the brand shared how they feel about Duo's pretend death, (humorously, of course).

Aflac Duck wanted to know, "You kept the receipt right?" and Cheez-It asked, "What about getting my time back?"

Many other fans also had something to say about Duo's rebirth.

"They gaslighted us all. Faking the death of Duo," one fan wrote. Another added, "So a lot of mascots died for him just to come back." Another fan shared a funny thought, "Imagine going to visit your loved one’s grave and see a giant Squishmallow leaving flowers on a random grave."

One thing's for sure, Duo's death brought all the brands out for some collaborative fun. Fans definitely ate it all up and had some fun of their own sharing hilarious comments and videos. The only question left - what's next for Duolingo? How will they keep the masses entertained and all the brands on TikTok engaging with their content and storylines?
