One of the stars of "Alaska: The Last Frontier" learned the hard way that that the long arm of the law stretches way out into the Alaskan wilderness.
According to court records obtained by The Blast, 21-year-old August Kilcher was cited by the Homer Police Department on October 4, for operating a vehicle with an expired registration.
He was not arrested, and his citation carries a fine of $110. The reality star has 30 days to respond to the charge.
August, who recently left college to return to his family's homestead near Homer, AK, is the son of Otto and Charlotte Kilcher.
Otto is brothers with "Last Frontier" co-star, Atz Kilcher, and also the uncle of singer Jewel.
He is still pretty close with his cousin Jewel and shared a video of the star performing a couple months ago at Justin Cole's Down East Saloon in Homer during a trip back home.

Hopefully dealing with his legal problems won't get in the way of August's chores on the Kilcher homestead, as the young star has taken on a bigger role for his family's survival.
In a preview for Season 9 of "Alaska: The Last Frontier," which premiered earlier this week, August is seen being given more responsibility by his father, Otto.
"It's a lot of responsibility that my dad has put on me, but I think I'm ready to step up for it," August tells the camera as his family is hesitant he will be able to handle the workload.

However, it appears August does step up and becomes a contributing member of the Kilchers as they prepare for a harsh winter in Alaska.
But first, he's gotta pay his fines.
