Five years ago, Breaking Bad came to an explosive and satisfying end. While the world lived on in a way through Better Call Saul, the antics of Walter White came to an end.

Even though Walter White's story was seemingly brought to an end, that didn't stop the fandom from disagreeing over whether or not White died in the series finale. Sure, he was gunned down in a hail of bullets, but technically he could have survived it.

The saga of Breaking Bad is continuing with the upcoming Netflix film El Camino, revealing to fans what exactly happened to Jesse Pinkman after he seemingly drove away into the sunset.

While promoting El Camino, series creator Vince Gilligan stopped by The Rich Eisen Show and settled the debate over whether or not White was dead or alive for good.

According to Gilligan (and he would know):

"Yeah, I’m going to give you that one, Rich, because I love you so much. Yes, Walter White is dead. Yes."

Well, that settles it, moderators of Breaking Bad Reddit threads. While we won't be seeing any more of Walter White, El Camino is sure to scratch the Five Years Of Missing Breaking Bad Itch. Catch it on Netflix October 11.
