The woman who has accused Matt Lauer of sexually assaulting her in a hotel room during the Sochi Olympics is getting support from the public after her allegations were revealed.
35-year-old Brooke Nevils is a TV producer, journalist, and previous NBC News employee.
It was revealed this week in Ronan Farrow's new book, "Catch and Kill," that Nevils claims
Lauer anally raped her in his hotel room at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, and that her complaint to NBC was the catalyst to Lauer being fired from the network.

Nevils told Ronan Farrow that she continued having sex with Lauer after the alleged incident in Sochi, but described the relationship as "completely transactional."
In the wake of her coming forward, Nevils has made her Instagram account private.

Her Twitter account is still public, but she has not yet addressed the situation. On Tuesday evening, hours before the story broke, Nevils actually did reply to a Twitter user about a post on a cat.
In response to a man named Luke Thompson, Nevils commented on a photo of his cat in a prisoner outfit.
Underneath her reply, users began to reach out to Nevils and offer support in the wake of her situation.
"Sorry to hear about your story. I hope you find peace and justice is done," one person wrote.
Another user commented, "Hope justice is served and you find comfort."

Nevils has not yet spoken since news of her story went public, but it's possible her reported 7-figure settlement with NBC prevents her from doing any further interviews.

Lauer's former "TODAY" co-hosts, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, also came out in support of Nevils during an emotional moment on Wednesday's show.
"This is shocking and appalling, and I honestly don’t even know what to say about it," Guthrie said.
She added, "I know it wasn’t easy for our colleague Brooke to come forward then. It is not easy now, and we support her and any women who come forward with claims. And it is just very painful. For all of us at NBC who are at the Today show, it is very, very difficult.”
Lauer has denied the accusations of rape and claims he had a consensual affair with Nevils.
