Joe Jonas Admits That He 'Wasn't So Quick To Forgive' Nick For The Jonas Brothers Reunion

After the Jonas Brothers broke up back in 2013, it was unclear whether or not they would ever make music together again. Nick started a successful solo career, Joe started the band DNCE, and Kevin focused on his family.
However, the got the band back together in 2019, releasing hit singles, a chart topping album, and a documentary about their career. They may have taken a few years apart, but it's safe to say that they're back and better than ever.
However, it wasn't a reunion free of bumps. The brothers stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show and admitted that after Nick suggested they all take a break, Joe took it particularly hard. According to Nick, the combination of normal sibling dynamics and working together made things complicated.
"When that decision came to end it, I think that the next step was just in discovering who we are as family and actually building a relationship outside of our work and our creative life. What we found is that we actually really like each other. It took some convincing. Joe was the last to come on board."
Joe explained that while their time on stage is "so special and so fun," but it took some time.
"I wasn’t so quick to forgive Nick just yet but we worked through it."
The group appeared at the Grammy Museum on Monday night, and Joe explained that he had built something good on his own and wasn't sure he needed The Jonas Brothers (the band, not the family) anymore.
"It took me a little while, but luckily I was figuring out, doing something on my own with DNCE was really special. Coming back around, I was like, ‘I’m good. I don’t need to do this thing that we said no to anymore.’ There was too much in the closet, and I feel like for us, we didn’t really want to work through all that stuff. All that said, the doc has been a really helpful tool for us."
Luckily, they were able to find a sound that worked for all of them with "Sucker" and the rest of their album. Welcome back, JoBros!
