Ben Affleck Reportedly 'Casually Dating' As He And Jennifer Lopez Are Declared 'Legally Single'

Ben Affleck is "casually dating" after he and Jennifer Lopez were finally declared legally single after settling their divorce in January.

The former couple, who got married in 2022 following a whirlwind romance, seemingly hit a rough patch in early 2024.

At the time, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were hardly ever seen together in public, sparking divorce rumors, which the singer confirmed by filing for divorce on their wedding anniversary.

According to People Magazine, sources revealed that Affleck has put himself back on the market and is dating again. This report comes after he and his ex-wife, Lopez, were declared legally single.

"Ben's casually dating," an insider told the news outlet, adding, "This doesn't seem to be a focus, though."

The insider further noted that Affleck is "very focused on work" and that "If he's not filming, he spends long days at his office."

They also said he has been spending "a lot of time" with his children, Violet, 19, Seraphina (Fin), 16, and Samuel, 12, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

Affleck has also been seen a lot lately with his youngest son, Samuel, with the source stating that they are "very close."

Lopez officially filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024, marking what appeared to be the definitive end of their love story after a whirlwind romance.

According to a report, their marriage left Affleck "exhausted" in more ways than one. But after taking some time to heal, he is now ready to open his heart again to love while remaining cautious about maintaining his sobriety.

"This weight is lifted from him, and he is ready to move on and date again—if the right woman comes along," a source close to the actor told the Daily Mail. "He is taking a minute because this has taken a toll on him. He is staying close to his family and his sobriety circle."

"He's not been left fragile so much as exhausted by it all," they added about the "Accountant" star.

Affleck and Lopez chose to part ways without any court drama by appointing a dissolution lawyer to mediate their split.

In the end, neither of them received any spousal support, and both were allowed to walk away from the marriage with all of the assets they owned prior to tying the knot in 2022.

Lopez still got to keep her 8.5-carat diamond engagement ring, worth an estimated $5 million, although not the most expensive among the ones she has received from her previous ex-husbands.

Meanwhile, she will also split the proceeds from their Beverly Hills mansion with Affleck.

The former couple purchased the property in May 2023 for $60.8 million and hope to sell it for $68 million. The house remains unsold for now after being on the market since mid-last year.

According to the Daily Mail, Lopez doesn't want to jump right back into the dating scene right after her divorce from Affleck.

"Jen, like most people, would love to have love in her life again," a source shared. "But the one person she has to give time to right now is herself. If something presents itself, then obviously life and love will find a way, but she isn't looking to get into any new relationships."

They continued, "She is focused on her work and wants 2025 to be the year she gets back to being herself. She isn't actively looking to date right now and is still processing losing Ben again."

"She likes being in a relationship almost immediately after one ends, but right now, she is trying something new and seeing if that works out for her better," the insider added.

Lopez officially broke her silence on her divorce during a chat with Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine.

According to the actress, while she does not regret taking the decision, the "pain" of the aftermath almost took her "out for good."

However, Lopez now views it as the catalyst she needed to steer her life in the direction it was meant to follow.

She shared, "Now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'F-ck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a f-cking sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don't have to do it again.'"
