Peacock's reality series "The Traitors" has been a hit among unscripted television viewers since its first season aired in 2023.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the competition show, it's hosted by actor Alan Cumming in the United Kingdom. It features a handful of reality TV competition stars from shows like "Big Brother," "Survivor," and "The Challenge." Other celebrities are invited to play, too, like women from the "Real Housewives" and villains from "Vanderpump Rules."

The show's purpose is for the three to four selected "traitors" to murder the game's "faithful" players without being detected during the dramatic round-table ceremony at the end of every episode. As one can imagine, the lies, coverups, and manipulation cause much chaos between the players inside the Scotland castle.

That chaos also translates online, and the recent episode of "The Traitors" stirred up more drama than expected.

Season 3 Of 'The Traitors' Has Been Chaotic

The third season of Peacock's most-watched unscripted series began in January 2025. During the premiere episode, Cumming selected his three traitors, which ended up being Bob the Drag Queen from "RuPaul," Carolyn Wiger from "Survivor," and Danielle Reyes from "Big Brother."

Later, Cumming would add another "Survivor" legend—Boston Rob Mariano—to the traitors' turret, too.

Before beginning their spree of fictitious murders, the titular characters take an oath, promising not to reveal the identities of their fellow traitors to preserve the integrity of the game.

They usually stick together for the first few episodes, hoping to wreak havoc in the castle. However, by the middle of the season, a traitor typically turns on another by setting them up so that they can advance.

This occurred early in the series' third season after Boston Rob took Bob the Drag Queen out during a lethal exchange in the fourth episode.

His move caused distrust among the other traitors, leading Reyes and Wiger to battle it out in the coming episodes.

What Happened Between Reyes and Wiger In 'The Traitors'?

As the season went on, after the faithful players successfully detected Boston Rob as one of the traitors, they turned their eyes to the female players.

Several of the cast members, like Dylan Efron and Ciara Miller from "Summer House," questioned whether Reyes or Wiger could be a traitor, which caused even more tension between the latter pair.

Their feud continued for a few episodes; however, it reached its apex during the most recent showing, which aired on February 20, 2025.

After going back and forth during a heated round-table discussion, the cast had to vote on who they believed the traitor was.

Cumming revealed that Wiger received the most votes, which sent her home and revealed her status as a traitor to the rest of the group.

Wiger's departure upset many watchers—and players, too! In fact, they've been blasting Reyes in social media posts and interviews for days.

Cast Members Are Blasting Reyes In Interviews

One of the biggest reasons Wiger and fans alike are upset with Reyes' performance in "The Traitors" is because the "Big Brother" player stabbed her fellow traitor in the back.

After spreading false rumors about her to the other players in the house, it put a target on Wiger that didn't exist before.

“I thought it was ridiculous,” Wiger said during an interview. “I thought we may not be getting along in the turret, but I thought we were together. I was really loyal to her. That was the person I was working with. Come on, girl!”

Wiger also slammed Reyes for being "emotionally [manipulative]" while filming the series, saying the reality competition star would often "swear on [her] family or children."

"I don’t believe we need to cross those moral lines," she said. "I watched last season, and this is supposed to be fun. What is this b-tch doing?”

Miller, who was banished during the season's eighth episode, shared similar feelings during an interview with Us Weekly.

"I was kind of disgusted that [Reyes] was a Traitor," Miller said. “I just didn’t respect her game-playing."

The model and nurse also mentioned Reyes "swearing on kids" and admitted being confused by it. "I just didn’t feel like the stakes were that high," she said.

People Are Slamming Reyes For Her Role On 'Traitors'

After Boston Rob was banished from season 3 of "The Traitors," the "Survivor" winner slammed his co-star, Reyes, as a "bad traitor."

Users online agreed with him, saying they got "secondhand embarrassment" from watching her play.

"I swear to god, I hate Danielle so much," another person wrote. "She's such a terrible traitor to watch; there's nothing fun at all about her gameplay."

Others Are Defending Reyes

On the other hand, several watchers are defending Reyes for giving people a "masterclass in being a traitor."

"She built her alliances with the people closest to her, framed Carolyn during the chess game, and made the final blow at the round table. WOW," someone commented.

Other netizens also chimed in, saying Reyes has been playing the game the way it's supposed to be played.

"Danielle Reyes brought back REAL TV villains," a user posted. "Lying, drama, arguments, swearing on family, and masterminding the downfall of her opponents. Not everyone will like it, but everyone will remember it."
