Ben Affleck is reportedly ready to try his hand at love again in the wake of his split from Jennifer Lopez.

The actor first dated the "Maid in Manhattan" star in 2002, but the couple broke up two years later after a failed engagement.

Over two decades later, they reconnected and ultimately tied the knot in July 2022. However, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce last year, which has since been finalized with the help of a mediator.

After months of rumors and speculation about the state of their marriage, Lopez officially filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024, marking what appeared to be the definitive end of their love story.

According to reports, the failed union left Affleck "exhausted" in more ways than one. But after taking some time to heal, he is now ready to open his heart again to love—while remaining cautious about maintaining his sobriety.

"This weight is lifted from him, and he is ready to move on and date again—if the right woman comes along," a source close to the actor told the Daily Mail. "He is taking a minute because this has taken a toll on him. He is staying close to his family and his sobriety circle."

Affleck and Lopez chose to part ways without any court drama by appointing a dissolution lawyer to mediate their split.

In the end, neither of them received any spousal support, and both were allowed to walk away from the marriage with all of the assets they owned prior to tying the knot in 2022.

Lopez still got to keep her 8.5-carat diamond engagement ring, worth an estimated $5 million, although not the most expensive among the ones she has received from her previous ex-husbands.

Meanwhile, she will also split the proceeds from their Beverly Hills mansion with Affleck.

They purchased the property in May 2023 for $60.8 million and are hoping to sell it for $68 million. Currently, the house remains unsold after being on the market since mid-last year.

By all indications, Lopez and Affleck's divorce was amicable, as seen by their decision to avoid court drama.

Still, fans of the duo shouldn't expect them to remain close, unlike Affleck's tight bond with his ex-wife and mother of his children, Jennifer Garner.

"You will likely not see them hanging out or having exes lunches," the source added about Affleck and Lopez. "He will never be close to her like he is to Jennifer Garner."

This year's Valentine's Day saw the former couple mark the celebration in different ways.

According to the Daily Mail, Affleck chose a low-key approach with no social media posts. He was later seen two days after walking his two German Shepherds in his neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Lopez took to Instagram to joke about being single while referencing her 2001 hit song, "Love Don't Cost a Thing."

"My Vday playlist: (Self-Love Don't Cost A Thing)," the "Unstoppable" actress posted on her Instagram Stories alongside an image of herself in a hot pink dress and matching fuzzy coat.

The new movie is set to be released in April 2025 and is produced by the actor's production company, Artists Equity, which he co-owns with his best pal, Matt Damon.

As for Lopez, she is currently in the UAE to perform for one night only at Saadiyat Nights in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, February 20.

According to the Daily Mail, Lopez doesn't want to jump right back into the dating scene right after her divorce from the "Argo" actor.

"Jen, like most people, would love to have love in her life again," a source shared. "But the one person she has to give time to right now is herself. If something presents itself, then obviously life and love will find a way, but she isn't looking to get into any new relationships."

They continued, "She is focused on her work and wants 2025 to be the year she gets back to being herself. She isn't actively looking to date right now and is still processing losing Ben again."

"She likes being in a relationship almost immediately after one ends, but right now, she is trying something new and seeing if that works out for her better," the insider added.
