Tyrese Gibson is getting candid about his financial threshold amid pleas for a review of his child support payments.

The actor explained his side of the story to the judge as to why a reduction in child support would benefit him and his new financial condition.

Tyrese Gibson and his former wife, Samantha Gibson, share a 5-year-old daughter, Soraya. The ex-wife was awarded primary custody of Soraya in 2023.

The actor declared in a new filing that he is not making as much money as before, which means his ongoing child support fee must be readjusted to reflect that.

Tyrese filed the petition on December 3, 2024, weeks after he was arrested and then released over alleged failure to settle child support.

Tyrese reported a substantial decrease in his income, claiming it has dropped by about 85 percent as of September 2024. He mentioned that he currently earns approximately $39,000 each month. In his attorney's argument:

"The income of [Tyrese] has drastically reduced since 2022 when the evidence was taken at the final trial in August 2022. Traditionally, as a self-employed individual, [Tyrese's] income has fluctuated for his entire career over the past 26 years."

The lawyer continued that following the decline in earnings, the actor no longer qualifies as having a high income according to legal standards.

"Consequently, Tyrese's child support obligation should be modified based upon the current incomes of both parties effective immediately," his attorney demanded. Per In Touch, the actor expressed his hope to resolve his issues amicably with Samantha.

Last year, Tyrese was taken into custody due to his failure to make child support payments. He was accused of owing Samantha a significant amount, totaling $73,525.73.

Back in 2022, when the child support order was entered, the judge claimed Tyrese was earning $275,000 a month compared to Samantha's income of around $7,880.

In his newly filed request for reduction, Tyrese claimed that Samantha was a certified social worker with a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree. He argued that "her income has likely increased substantially since August 2022," although he has no idea how much.

After his release from jail, Tyrese spoke out about the incident on Instagram. According to him, "getting arrested wasn't easy. As a matter of fact, it was very traumatic."

As shared by The Blast, Tyrese also wondered why the presiding Judge, Kevin M. Farmer, and Samantha Lawyer, Adam Glickman, dislike him with so much passion.

Tyrese accused the two legal professionals of setting out to destroy him in the now-deleted post's caption. He disclosed that he had tried to remove Farmer from the bench twice while Glickman allegedly "lied and gaslighted and manipulated everything about his presentation."

Tyrese criticized the judge for purportedly applying a $10,690 child support payment plan from his California case to his ongoing Georgia case with Samantha.

Tyrese further expressed his grievances regarding perceived bias from the judge, claiming that Judge Kevin M. Farmer has a personal disdain for him, which he believes constitutes prejudice.

He stated that the judge has made comments in court that indicate this animosity, suggesting that such behavior is illegal. While he acknowledges that his ex's lawyer is entitled to dislike him, he contends that a judge should not exhibit personal bias.

Tyrese also insinuated that there may be collusion between Judge Farmer and his ex's attorney, Glickman, claiming they are in constant communication and are working together against him.

"I'm very sure that there is collusion and that the judge and Adam Glickman are besties. They allegedly are texting each other constantly, and they've been plotting and scheming and working in conjunction with each other," he wrote.

In the months before his arrest, The Blast noted that Tyrese encountered significant legal troubles related to his first ex-wife, Norma Mitchell.

The situation escalated in April when Tyrese publicly accused Norma of blackmail and fraud. In retaliation, she filed a defamation lawsuit against him, aiming to counter his claims and vindicate her reputation.

Norma sought a restraining order against her ex-husband, Tyrese, requesting that the court protect her and their daughter by keeping him away from them. She also wanted various posts about her removed from his Instagram account.

Despite her efforts, Tyrese won the case twice. Norma's request for a temporary restraining order was denied, and her petition for a permanent order was dismissed because she failed to attend the hearing in August.
