Matthew Perry’s tragic and untimely passing sent shockwaves through Hollywood and beyond, leaving fans mourning the loss of the beloved "Friends" star.
Now, Peacock is revisiting the circumstances surrounding his death in a new documentary that aims to take a deeper look into the investigation and what really happened in Matthew Perry's final moments.
Matthew Perry's Tragic Death To Be Told In New Peacock Documentary

The tragic story behind Perry's sudden death and the alleged culprits who are being held responsible for it is coming to the screen.
In an upcoming Peacock documentary, "Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy," the "Friends" actor's final days and the investigation that was launched into the nature of his death will be broken down and examined by friends and experts.
PEOPLE Magazineshared the premiere trailer for the documentary, which premieres February 25 and begins with audio of the dispatch call made to first responders after Perry drowned at his L.A. home.
"This could not be true," one insider asks of Perry's October 29, 2023, death at age 54. "How could this possibly be true?"
As footage plays of Perry and his "Friends" costars Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Courteney Cox amid the heyday of the '90s sitcom, a fan says Perry was her favorite "because he just made me laugh all the time."
Then, Morgan Fairchild, who played his character, Chandler Bing's mom on the sitcom, says of the late actor, "He really touched people's lives."
Sources Claim Hollywood Is 'Full Of Enablers'

Insiders go on to say that Perry's life was "overtaken by addictions" as "Hollywood is full of enablers."
"They really preyed on somebody vulnerable," one person said. "He was doing so well. Everyone thought he was clean and sober. That's when we knew that there's way more to this story."
Martin Estrada, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, whose office is handling the investigation into Perry's death, which was the result of the acute effects of ketamine, also weighed in.
"He had died as a result of ketamine," Estrada said in the trailer. "The defendants have all been charged. Three of them have pled guilty and will be cooperating. Two remain."
"The allegations show a trained doctor is injecting Mr. Perry in parking lots," he continued. "We used to blame [the] victim. We don't do that anymore." As the trailer wraps up, an insider said, "This story has become so big that we're really forgetting this story is about one man and that he will be missed."
It fittingly concludes with footage of Cox, Kudrow, and Perry at the 1996 Screen Actors Guild Awards, as Cox declares, "Matthew Perry is the funniest person in the whole world."
Matthew Perry Leaves A Legacy

Perry, renowned for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on the sitcom "Friends," passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. He was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles residence and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner determined that his death resulted from the acute effects of ketamine, with contributing factors including drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder.
Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy to address depression and anxiety. In his 2022 memoir, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing," he described his experience with ketamine as "being hit in the head with a giant happy shovel." Despite these treatments, he relapsed into substance use, which ultimately contributed to his untimely death.
Investigation Leads To Arrests

In the months following his death, an extensive investigation led to charges against five individuals connected to Perry's ketamine acquisition. Among those charged were his personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, and two medical doctors, Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Dr. Mark Chavez.
Iwamasa admitted to repeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine without proper medical training, including multiple injections on the day of Perry's death. Both Iwamasa and Dr. Chavez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death. Dr. Plasencia, along with an alleged drug dealer known as "The Ketamine Queen," faced charges related to the distribution of ketamine.
When Does 'Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy' Air?

The upcoming documentary "explores the case as two of the defendants, who have pleaded not guilty, await trial," per the official description.
"Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy" airs Tuesday, February 25, on Peacock.
