Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker Reportedly 'Hoping For A Girl' In Possible Family Expansion

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barkerare reportedly hoping to add a daughter to their blended family. This comes nearly two years after Kardashian bravely discussed her experience with emergency fetal surgery.

While thrilled with their son Rocky, sources say Kourtney Kardashian is particularly keen on welcoming a girl, though twins are also a possibility.  

Insiders reveal that the couple is eager to grow their family further, with both Kardashian and Barker enthusiastic about the prospect of another baby, or even two. It was noted that Kardashian is "hoping for a girl this time" or even twins.

"They both think having twins would be a huge plus, either a boy and a girl or twin girls. The exciting thing is if they do use a surrogate, that's actually totally doable," the source explained.

While they are reportedly hoping to conceive naturally, they are prepared to explore other options. "Nothing is in the works yet, and for now, they're still hoping to do this naturally, but if not, they will turn to science for help," the source clarified.

The insider elaborated to In Touch on Kardashian's openness to surrogacy, noting that she has witnessed its positive outcomes within her own family. The source revealed, "It's worked out well for Kim [Kardashian] and Khloé [Kardashian], so Kourtney has seen all the positives firsthand."

The reality TV star's journey to parenthood with her son, Rocky, was marked by significant medical complications. Kardashian and Barker first raised concerns in 2023 when she was hospitalized.  

The Blast reported that while the specific reason for her hospitalization was initially kept private, a June 20, 2024, episode of "The Kardashians" provided insight into the medical difficulties Kardashian faced.  

During the episode, she candidly discussed how her son required emergency fetal surgery during her pregnancy. Kardashian revealed that her son suffered from a rare medical condition. "It is super rare: the condition that he had — but it is also super rare and lucky that we caught it," she explained.  

However, the surgery, while necessary, did not fully resolve the issue. Kardashian disclosed that "the fluid in his lungs actually did start coming back" afterward.

Kardashian attributed Rocky's improved health during her pregnancy to the power of prayer and positive thinking. She noted that her belief and faith played a crucial role in his recovery.

The TV personality reportedly found solace and resilience in her faith. In her own words, "I watched this documentary called 'Heal' that was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health."

Inspired by the documentary, she began a practice of daily communication and prayer with her unborn child. "After I had that mindset shift, the fluid was completely gone, and we had not one single problem after," Kardashian shared.

In the same episode, which was filmed before Rocky's birth, offered a glimpse into Barker's anxieties surrounding their son's arrival. The Blink-182 drummer expressed his worries about the baby's health, given the medical condition he was facing in utero.

"I don't want him to come out early," he stated before adding, "I want to make sure his lungs are perfect: everything's perfect." Despite Barker's pre-birth worries, the couple welcomed their son safely on November 1, 2023.

Kardashian expressed her joy at their son's arrival, "It's everything I've ever dreamed of. Everything we've been through to get to this moment it just feels so surreal. I'm so happy in my blissful baby bubble and the love with Rocky."

Before welcoming their son, the lovebirds opened up about their carefully considered approach to integrating their households. The couple, already parents to six children from previous relationships, initially prioritized the comfort of their blended family when making their living arrangements.

However, the impending arrival of their first child together prompted a change of heart. The Blast highlighted that an episode of "The Kardashians," filmed months before Rocky's arrival, captured Kardashian explaining the details behind their decision to eventually live together. 

"It feels like we kind of figured out a plan for now. We're going to move into his house, which is a block away, and then redo my house at the same time so that we can all be together, living together under one roof with the baby," she shared.

Even after experiencing pregnancy complications, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker remain enthusiastic about growing their family.
