Mark Hamill Leaves Guests 'Horrified' As His Pants Fall Down While Presenting BAFTA Award

Mark Hamill's appearance at the BAFTAs to present the Best Film award turned into an unforgettable moment after an unexpected wardrobe mishap took center stage.

The "Star Wars" actor's pants dropped midway through his speech, and he was forced to hurriedly put them back on amid the glare from several stunned guests.

Luckily for Mark Hamill, the lectern shielded most of the wardrobe malfunction from view; however, he still found himself being trolled online over the incident.

When Mark Hamill took the stage to present the BAFTA Award for Best Film, what was meant to be a routine ceremony took an unexpected turn when he suffered a wardrobe mishap.

Hamill began the award presentation with a speech praising the virtues of great films, but midway through, his pants suddenly dropped to his knees, reportedly leaving many guests "horrified," especially those seating in the front row.

"Mark started speaking then his suit trousers just dropped to his knees. It was like they were too big for him," a source who reportedly attended the award ceremony told The Sun.

"All the big stars such as Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Adrien Brody would have seen it from their angle. Most guests looked horrified but said nothing," the source continued.

They added about the incident: "They were turning to each other wide-eyed as if to say, did that just happen?"

For the ceremony, Hamill was dressed in a classic black tuxedo, which he paired with a white shirt, black bowtie, and matching shoes.

It appeared he went without a belt or a suspender, which likely caused his pants to drop while he was giving his speech.

Despite being caught off guard by the wardrobe malfunction, Hamill remained unfazed and quickly pulled his pants back up to his waist.

He then proceeded to tuck the tails of his white shirt back into his pants and did all this without pausing his speech or referencing the unexpected mishap.

Luckily for Hamill, he was standing behind the stage's lectern when the mishap occurred, preventing most viewers at home and many guests from getting a full view of everything.

Ultimately, Hamill went on to read out the nominations for Best Film before announcing "Conclave" as the winner among the ten nominees in that category.

The movie also won in the Outstanding British Film, Best Editing, and Best Adapted Screenplay categories.

According to another source, the wardrobe malfunction became a major topic of conversation when the guests gathered for dinner after the awards ceremony.

"Mark and his disappearing trousers were the talk of the awards dinner later on," the insider shared. "People couldn't work out how they just fell down when they had been perfectly fine earlier when he walked out onto the stage.
