DeGeneres and de Rossi may be tired of their Cotswolds home which was recently affected by the effects of Storm Bert.

After Donald Trump's victory in the last election, the pair left the U.S. for a fresh start in the U.K. countryside.

They quickly settled into a £15 million historic farmhouse but were dealt a major blow after their new home became surrounded by flood water as continuous rainfall forced a nearby river to overflow its banks.

According to local residents, the celebrity couple may have already begun eyeing up a new rural retreat, sparking speculation that they may be abandoning their luxurious Cotswolds estate at least temporarily.

"Ellen and Portia have had several issues with the place they initially moved into," a local told the Daily Mail. "First there was the flooding, of course, then there was an issue with some locals complaining about some building work carried out at the property."

"So the upshot seems to have been that they started to have a look around and then this property came up," the source continued. "They looked at it several times. And they liked it more each time they looked."

"So it does look like it's happening. They've been seen around there several times in recent weeks and have even had interactions with neighbors," they added.

It remains unknown if the couple has paid for the new property, which is set in the hugely expensive area of the Cotswolds and boasts of famous neighbors like David and Victoria Beckham, Simon Cowell and Kate Moss.

According to the Daily Mail, the home, which they're understood to have visited several times, is situated at the top of a hill and has the renowned celebrity haven Soho Farmhouse close by.

A source said: "It represents quite a change for them - from a traditional farmhouse to something much more Hollywood. But I guess that's what they felt like after their first winter in England."

"But whatever the weather does they won't be flooded again as it's at the top of a hill and the views are spectacular," they added.

DeGeneres and de Rossi's quest to abandon their Cotswolds farmhouse may have further been impacted by the recent clash they had with neighbors as they sought to build an extension over their property.

According to news outlets, the former "Ellen DeGeneres Show" host and her wife seemingly committed a "technical breach" as they looked to build a single-story extension to the Cotswolds farmhouse.

They were frowned at by British neighbors who charged that the development could increase potential flooding in the area as well as disturb Roman remains.

"The onus is on the owner to report any historic remains uncovered," a note from the parish council office stated.

It continued, "Concern was expressed by residents that the hedge and wire fence could increase flood risk in the village' if rubbish was swept down and 'caught on the fence,' thereby 'limiting flow across the field.'"
