Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles and NFL star Tyreek Hill have officially agreed to address their social media feud about their speeds with a foot race.
After months of debate about which of the two dynamic athletes was faster than the other, Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles will put their money where their mouths are with a race that everyone will be talking about.
Tyreek Hill Ready To Show People What Real Speed Looks Like Against Noah Lyles

Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill are both dominant competitors in their sports. Lyles, of course, won gold during the 100m sprint during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. At the same time, Hill was declared one of the NFL's fastest players during the 2024-2025 season.
Their speeds have, of course, sparked debate about who among them is the fastest, with each man giving themselves the crown. However, the real winner will be crowned once and for all during an epic showdown that they announced during a joint interview with PEOPLE.
"This has been an ongoing thing for quite some time now, and I mean, everybody's seen the back and forth on social media," Hill, who also ran track during his time in college, said. "I've been very adamant to show people what real, true speed looks like."

The foot race between Lyles and Hill has been coming for a long time. Lyles addressed their feud during an interview on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson's "Nightcap" podcast in August 2024 and said that he wasn't fearful of Hill or his nickname "The Cheetah."
Lyles continued to say that despite Hills' comments, he's always been ready and willing to race the Miami Dolphins' star player.
"If he's truly serious about it ... you'll see me on the track," Lyles said.
Hill heard about his comments and replied with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, telling the Olympian to "sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race."
Lyles, who recently competed in and won his fourth Indoor Grand Prix 60m hosted by New Balance, celebrated his victory in his usual fashion. He walked with his shoulders back and head held high before showing the camera a handwritten message.
After ripping off his name tag, Lyles showed off a note addressed specifically for Hill, which read: "Tyreek could never."

Elsewhere during their interview, Lyles addressed his bold move during the Indoor Grand Prix race and said the sign spoke "for itself." He continued to say that he's heard a lot of talk about people wanting to be the fastest person alive; however, he has the title because he's earned it.
"Everybody says that they're gonna be the world's fastest, but when it comes down to it, you gotta be the winner every time, each and every time, and every time I show up to the biggest moments, I win," he said.
On social media, fans shared their reactions to the news that Hill and Lyles would finally settle their debate once and for all. Based on the comments, many are already assuming that Lyles, who has six World Championship gold medals, will be the race's obvious winner.
"[This] is not a debate," one user said. "Lyles is faster." Another user seemingly agreed and noted that Lyles would "wipe the floor with Reek."
A few other users also commented on the entertainment value this race will bring to sports fans worldwide. "This will be interesting," one poster wrote, while another commented and called the race "epic."
On X, Lyles also discussed the moment, saying the time to end the debate about the two stars-studded athletes had finally arrived.
Hill Is Doing This Race For The Other NFL Players

During their joint conversation, Hill admitted to being impressed by Lyles and the legacy he's already built as one of the world's fastest men alive. The NFL player said he had a "lot of respect" for Lyles and his talent on the track; however, this race means something different to him.
Hill has to race (and beat) Lyles "for the guys that play my sport," he said. According to him, coming out of the blocks against Lyles will showcase that NFL athletes are multi-dimensional and that "we can come and take over your sport at any moment if we really wanted to."
Regarding the trash talk coming from Lyles throughout the duration of their feud, Hill is fine with the jabs as long as things stay PG between the two explosive athletes. "We can go as far as far can be. We're here for a good time," he said.
Lyles Starts Drama With The NBA

Lyles' drama with Hill isn't the only conflict the outspoken track star has been involved in with other professional athletes. In early 2024, Lyles upended NBA stars and fans alike after he questioned why the association called their winners "world" champions if they're only competing against athletes in the United States.
“You know the thing that hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘world champion’ on they head. World champion of what? The United States? Don’t get me wrong, I love the U.S. (at times), but that ain’t the world,” Lyles said.
“We are the world. We have almost every country out here fighting, thriving, putting on their flag to show they are represented. There ain’t no flags in the NBA," he finished.
Basketball legends, including Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard, replied to Lyles' gutsy comments, sharing their apparent disappointment with the young track star's choice of words.
"Somebody help this brother," Durant said. "The f-ck?" Lillard also wrote.
