Autism is a developmental disorder marked by difficulties with social interactions and communication, as well as various repetitive movements and the tendency to prefer rigid schedules.
Even a seemingly simple task of being instructed to reach out and grab and object can pose challenges for those with autism.
Speech therapy and other interventions can help a person with autism learn to spot facial cues and gain confidence in self-care.
