Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s pregnancy has been a widely discussed and controversial topic, generating strong reactions from the public since she first shared the news.

In PEOPLE's exclusive debut of the "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up" season 2 trailer, the 33-year-old reality star and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, open up about their relationship, sharing both the highs and challenges of her pregnancy journey.
“I got death threats,” she revealed. “People don’t feel like I’m gonna be a good mother, because of what my mom put me through. Let me prove you wrong.”
While the trailer offers only a glimpse, fans can anticipate the full drama to unfold as the episodes premiere on Lifetime.

This is not the first time Gypsy has addressed the backlash she has received. During the third episode of season one of "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup," she responded to the online criticism that followed her early release from prison in December 2023.
While reflecting on the unexpected media attention and the nearly five million Instagram followers she gained overnight, the ex-con shared that she had encountered serious threats in her direct messages. “One time when I checked my direct messages, I found at least 10 death threats,” she disclosed in the June 17 episode before reading an example of one such message.
“You stupid waste of space. Wait until you are canceled by real people. That’ll ruin your life,” she read from her phone. “You are going to wish you are back behind bars. I can’t wait to be a part of tearing you down bit by bit. You deserve nothing but to be six feet under or locked away forever.”
The message continued, attacking Gypsy and comparing her situation to those facing real hardships. “There are real kids with cancer and real-life problems,” the comment stated. “Unlike you, that just went along with it because mommy told you to.” The sender went on to call her a “poor excuse for a human being” and wished “the worst for you.”

In 2015, Gypsy Rose and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, conspired to murder her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. The shocking crime captivated the public, revealing years of deception and abuse that Gypsy had endured under her mother’s control.
“I went to the bathroom, sat on the floor and covered my ears. Except I heard. I heard everything,” Gypsy recalled in her book. “Nick entered the room soundlessly because there was no bedroom door, so when she finally woke up it must have been because he was standing over her, not because of any noise. She was startled.”
She continued, “I just heard the screaming. And then I lay in the fetal position with my hands pressed hard over my ears. But I could still hear things.”
According to arrest records, Dee Dee was stabbed 17 times in the back while she slept. The records further revealed that after the attack in Gypsy’s room, she and Godejohn stole over $4,400 from the house before checking into a motel to plan their next steps.

In the epilogue of her new book, "My Time To Stand," Gypsy reflects on her mother’s possible forgiveness and a powerful coincidence that led her to believe Dee Dee might have granted her absolution. The ninth anniversary of Dee Dee’s death coincided with the day Gypsy received the first sonogram of her unborn child with her boyfriend, Ken Urker.
“I like to think that my mother is telling me that she wants me to move on with my life, that she forgives me,” Gypsy shared. “And what I will do on this anniversary is her way of helping me change the way I think of myself every June 10. Maybe now, with my freedom, we can both be released from our purgatories. Maybe now she can be free too. She always said we were two sides of the same penny.”
