The 75-foot Conception is a diving boat that charters trips off the coast of CA near where Rob Lowe and his family lives. The boat offers scuba diving and gourmet meals served between dives.

This weekend, 33-people booked the boat to dive near Santa Cruz Island.

But, the last day of the trip, the ship caught fire.

According to reports, some of the passengers may have been sleeping at the time the fire broke out. By the time the mayday went out from the vessel it was fully engulfed in flames.

In a recording of the alert call made by the captain of the ship, he can be heard relaying to dispatchers that people trapped below have no way to get out.

At least 20 people died, said The Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown "This is probably the worst-case scenario you can possibly have," he continued. "You have a vessel that's on the open sea, that is in the middle of the night. I mean, it's 3:30 in the morning...Of the 39 people on board, 33 passengers and 6 crew, -- only 5 people have been found alive." he concluded.
