Taylor Swift fans are fiercely defending the pop superstar after she was met with boos at Sunday’s Super Bowl, calling out the “insecure men with fragile egos” responsible for the loud jeers.

The 14-time Grammy winner was in the stands at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, anxiously watching as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in their pursuit of a third-straight Lombardi trophy.

The Chiefs ultimately fell short, losing 22-40, but it wasn’t just the team’s performance that drew attention as Swift’s appearance on the stadium’s jumbotron triggered a wave of boos from the crowd.

Following the incident, the hashtag #WeLoveYouTaylor began trending on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, as fans rushed to support Swift and condemn those who participated in the jeering. Many criticized the “grown men” who expressed their distaste at seeing the singer on-screen.

“Blondie had stadiums packed with people cheering her on and chanting her name ALL OVER THE WORLD!! A couple of insecure ‘men’ with fragile egos booing her … will never change that,” one user wrote.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Kelce was deeply affected by the reaction to his girlfriend. According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, the Chiefs tight end felt “helpless” upon witnessing Swift’s stunned reaction to the unexpected hostility.

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” the source shared. “He always protects her, and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night, and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her, and anyone can see this.”

Some Eagles fans reportedly view Swift as a “traitor of sorts,” given her Pennsylvania roots and former support for the team.

Adding fuel to the fire, President Donald Trump later took to social media to join in on the criticism. Posting on Truth Social, Trump trolled Swift with a jab about her reception at the game.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” he wrote, alongside a video of the moment.

“Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there,” the source went on. “After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”

The source added that the move was intended to protect Brittany from potential backlash stemming from any remarks Trump might make while in attendance.

“Everyone was forewarned that Trump would likely reference Taylor in one way or another, and he did,” the source said, referencing Trump’s mocking social media comments directed at Swift following the Chiefs’ loss. “It was in both of their best interests, given Trump’s attendance and his past remarks about Taylor, that the two did not sit next to each other."
