Tom Brady Gets Roasted After Flaunting 'Grotesque' $740K Watch At Super Bowl: 'Terrible Choice'

NFL legend Tom Brady is being roasted for wearing a $740k wristwatch to the 2025 Super Bowl.

The former footballer-turned-analyst wore a gold Jacob & Co. watch for his first stint as a Super Bowl announcer, and many found the display of wealth unsuitable for the occasion.

Tom Brady was previously criticized for his commentary in previous games amid calls for him to be replaced.

For his first appearance as the Super Bowl announcer, Brady arrived dressed formally and with a broad smile.

However, what truly stood out was his gold Caviar Tourbillon watch, which was crafted by the renowned watch designer Jacob & Co.

The watch includes "338 baguette- and rose-cut yellow sapphires, registering at nearly 49 carats, and also 338 brilliant-cut diamonds," per the New York Post.

It also cost a whopping $740,000, which seemed unsurprising given that the former footballer has an extensive collection of timepieces, including some of the most exclusive styles.

While many might typically be drawn to such a display of opulence, some social media users roasted Brady's decision to wear the watch.

"Dislike the grotesque opulence and flash of modern watches," read a tweet from a top influencer on X, Derek Guy, who is known for criticizing men's wear and style.

A different X netizen said, "How much does that ugly watch cost? Way too gaudy."

Another noted, "That thing is an abomination. Terrible, terrible choice."

Some users further trolled the ex-footballer by joking that Brady may have had plastic surgery due to his facial expression.

"He's drawing attention away from his face," someone joked, while another commented, "I think the watchmaker gave him a deal on a new face" alongside a picture of Brady's face.

In recent weeks, Brady has come under criticism for his officiating, with some fans even going as far as calling for his replacement.

Following the Super Bowl, his analysis of the game was once again criticized by multiple social media users.

An individual wrote, "I really don't enjoy listening to Tom Brady as a commentator. His flow is awkward, and he always makes it about his own experiences. Greg Olsen should've been the one doing the Super Bowl with Kevin Burkhardt."

Someone else commented, "Half of the commentary from Tom Brady is him talking about himself and his playing days. Wish I could mute him."

But unlike other times, some fans did have some praise for the seven-time Super Bowl winner.

One wrote, "My only Super Bowl take so far: Tom Brady is doing a good job," to which another fan replied, "He is and has certainly improved from his start in September."

Since joining Fox Sports on a $375 million deal, Brady has made several blunders that raised eyebrows.

According to the Daily Mail, during a game between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings, the football analyst struggled to recall the names of the teams that had beaten the Packers this season.

He also refused to admit that he couldn't remember the names, instead stretching out the moment with an uncomfortable silence before finally moving on to a different remark.

Additionally, while calling the NFC Wild Card game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers, he made a glaring error by referencing Philadelphia's baseball team instead of the football team.

Brady further fumbled during the same game by referring to Packers running back Josh Jacobs as Brandon Jacobs, a retired NFL halfback who hasn't played in years.

Brady made his NFL broadcasting debut on September 8, when Fox Sports covered the Dallas Cowboys' 33-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

It marked the beginning of his $375 million deal from Fox to become an analyst for NFL games.

The lucrative deal will last for 10 years, and Brady will receive around $37.5 million annually.

This makes the seven-time Super Bowl winner one of the highest-paid NFL sportscasters, with his annual salary far surpassing the likes of CBS' Tony Romo and ESPN's Troy Aikman.

Brady's Super Bowl appearance comes days after he reposted a mysterious message about love after his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, gave birth to her third child, her first with her new partner, Joaquim Valente.

"I really think the secret to being loved is to love," read the post on Brady's Instagram Stories, per Page Six.

It continued, "And the secret to being interesting is to be interested. And the secret to have others find beauty in you is to find beauty in others. And the secret to having a friend is being a friend."

Alongside the cryptic message, the former New England Patriots quarterback added the caption "Love this."

Brady and Bündchen were married for 13 years before getting divorced in 2022. They welcomed two children: a son, Benjamin, 15, and a daughter, Vivian, 12. Brady also shares a 17-year-old son, Jack, with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan.
