David Schwimmer Demands Elon Musk Take Action Against Kanye West On X

"Friends" actor David Schwimmer has taken a firm stand against Kanye West, publicly calling on Elon Musk to remove the rapper from X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, following a series of disturbing and antisemitic posts.

David Schwimmer's call to action follows Ye’s latest outburst, which included a string of antisemitic posts.

The "Friends" star addressed the issue on Instagram on Saturday, criticizing Musk for continuing to allow West, now known as Ye, to maintain a platform despite his history of hate speech.

“We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate-filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk,” Schwimmer wrote. “Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.”

Schwimmer continued his impassioned plea, stating:

“I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point.”

He ended his statement with a stark warning, “Silence is complicity.”

The actor's call to action comes after Kanye shared a controversial post, which read, “I don’t like or trust no Jewish person, and this is completely sober with no Hennessy.”

He added statements such as “I’m a Nazi,” “I’m racist. Stereotypes exist for a reason and they all be true,” and “Jewish people actually hate white people and use black people.”

Ye continued his tirade, declaring, “I love Hitler. Now what bitches. I’m never apologizing for my Jewish comments.”

The controversy ignited just days after Ye made headlines at the 2025 Grammys, appearing with his wife, Bianca Censori, who wore a sheer nude minidress. West defended the appearance, writing that he had “dominion over [his] wife” and stating that their relationship was not based on “woke feminist sh-t.”

The rapper also attempted to justify his remarks, at one point posting: “Hitler was sooooo fresh.”

West’s history of inflammatory remarks led to previous bans from X, including a suspension from December 2022 through mid-2023 after he posted a swastika and other antisemitic content. His actions have had real-world consequences, including Adidas severing ties with him.

In his series of posts, Kanye West also advocated for the release of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently incarcerated. The unexpected show of support quickly garnered attention, as West and Combs have had a tumultuous relationship in recent years.

Despite their past differences, Diddy wasted no time in acknowledging West's public plea, thanking the Yeezy founder for his advocacy.

"JUST FOR CLARITY THEY TYRING TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF PUFF ME AND MY BROTHER HAD OUR ISSUES BUT THESE WHITE PEOPLE TRYING TO USE PUFF TO SCARE N-GGAS IM NEITHER SCARED NOR BRAVE THIS JUST ME."

"I JUST FOUND OUT THAT PUFF IS NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE OR COLLECT MONEY WHILE HE'S LOCKED UP, SO I'MA SEND HIS HALF OF THE MONEY TO JUSTIN," he added.

West’s statement comes as a surprise to many, given that Combs previously criticized him in 2022 for being "tone deaf" after unveiling his controversial White Lives Matter merchandise. However, it appears that West has now extended an olive branch, calling for Combs' release in a series of social media posts.

Combs is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, facing several sex crime charges. The "Finna Get Loose" rapper has denied all allegations and has made multiple unsuccessful attempts to secure bail.

Breaking his silence on West’s unexpected support, Combs responded with gratitude after West directly pleaded with former President Donald Trump to "Free Puff." In a shocking twist, West also announced plans to release a new Yeezy clothing line in collaboration with Combs' Sean John brand.

“Thank you to my brother @Ye,” Combs wrote, sharing a link to the Yeezy website.
