Nipsey Hussle's ex-girlfriend is not backing down from the legal tussle with his family.
Tanisha Foster has taken further steps to remove her daughter from guardianship with the rapper's family by inviting his brother for a deposition.
Nipsey Hussle, who died on March 31, 2019, at the age of 33, left behind two children. The rapper has a daughter, Emani, who is the subject of the family's legal battle, and a son, Kross, who he had with his then-partner, Lauren London.

Tanisha has filed an emergency motion to terminate her daughter's guardianship, which was appointed to Nipsey Hussle's family in 2019.
In conjunction with this, on February 4, she submitted an application requesting that Nipsey's brother, Sam Asghedom, appear for a deposition next week.
Sam, along with Nipsey's sister, Samantha Smith, and their mother, Angelique Smith, have managed Nipsey's estate since his tragic passing. In Touch reported that Tanisha filed the new motion, hoping to get it approved before her scheduled February 25 trial date.

Samantha had requested to become the guardian of Emani on the family's behalf, expressing concerns about Tanisha's parenting capabilities. The family believes that Emani would be better cared for in their home.
In her petition, Samantha expressed her long-term commitment to caring for Emani and emphasized her desire to maintain Emani's stability and ongoing relationship with Nipsey's family.
Tanisha initially opposed this request. However, in October 2019, the judge appointed Nipsey's family as Emani's legal guardians.

In 2022, Tanisha reportedly filed documents claiming she initially agreed to the guardianship but now believed the arrangement had served its purpose. According to Tanisha's lawyer:
"Tanisha's motivation for doing so was in recognition of her own financial limitations; her desire to maintain the standard of living and family contact the minor had experienced with the paternal family prior to her father's death."
Her attorney added that Tanisha agreed to the idea "upon the verbal assurances that each of them would act in the best interests of Emani."
Tanisha asserted that the family violated their agreement by leveraging their wealth and influence to manipulate her and Emani's needs. She added that they did that by withholding financial support and limiting visitation.
She emphasized that no factors in her life would prevent her from reclaiming her role as Emani's parent, stating that guardianship is no longer necessary. Tanisha shared that Emani often expresses a desire to live with her and urged the court to terminate the guardianship so they can be reunited.

The Blast reported two years ago that the rapper's murderer, Holder, was sentenced to 60 years to life in a federal correctional facility. At his sentencing, he wore the standard orange jail uniform and maintained a calm demeanor as the judge read his sentence aloud to everyone present in the courtroom.
Before Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke delivered the sentence, an emotional speech was given by one of Nipsey Hussle's friends, and a letter from the father of Holder was also read in court.
Holder had been found guilty of first-degree murder in July 2022, following his arrest in 2019 for the tragic killing of the famous rapper. The culprit's sentencing faced multiple delays, the latest occurring on November 3, 2022, when his attorney, Aaron Jansen, called for a reduction in the conviction.
His lawyer argued that Holder should be convicted of either manslaughter or second-degree murder. However, the judge ultimately upheld the initial charges, refusing to alter the verdict.

The rapper's second baby mama and partner up until his death has publicly honored his legacy and life since his passing. The Blast reported in 2023 that Lauren maintained the same tempo for his posthumous 38th birthday celebration.
The actress celebrated her late boyfriend's special occasion by sharing a touching message on her Instagram.
"Honoring the day you blessed the Earth with your presence. Forevermore. I love you." she wrote, accompanying her heartfelt words was a photograph of the "Hussle & Motivate" artist in a white Puma jacket.
The post drew an outpouring of support in the form of blue heart emojis from well-known figures in Hollywood, including Big Sean, Lala Anthony, Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Rowland, Loni Love, Karrueche, and Yara Shahidi.
In the wake of Hussle's tragic passing, the "ATL" actress has taken on the responsibility of raising their child alongside her 13-year-old son, Kameron Carter, whom she shares with rapper Lil Wayne.
Will Tanisha Foster get her deposition request honored by the court? Time will tell!
