Zach And Julie Ertz Reveal Their Super Bowl LIX Insights And Hopes For The Game
By Kelly Coffey-Behrens on February 7, 2025 at 5:30 PM EST
With Super Bowl LIX just around the corner, NFL star Zach Ertz and his wife, retired soccer legend Julie Ertz, are weighing in on the highly anticipated matchup.
The game will feature a rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, who previously faced each other in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, are aiming for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl victory. The Eagles, with a 14–3 season record, are seeking to avenge their earlier Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.
Zach Ertz, who played in the NFC Championship against the Philadelphia Eagles as part of the Washington Commanders before being eliminated, reflected on his former team’s success.

“Obviously, we wish we were playing, but the scoreboard was what the scoreboard was,” Zach admitted, acknowledging the Eagles’ impressive performance during the NFC Championship game.
Despite not being on the Super Bowl field this year, he recognizes the talent on both sides. “So I'm gonna say, [the Chiefs and Eagles] are the two best teams [this year],” he said. “As a casual fan, I'm just hoping for a really good game.”
Having spent 12 seasons in the NFL, including a Super Bowl-winning stint with the Eagles, Zach still has strong ties to Philadelphia. However, he also has connections throughout the league. “I have relationships, obviously, longstanding relationships in Philly, and then being in the NFL for twelve years, you also have teammates who you played with in the past,” he explained.

On the other hand, Julie didn’t make any predictions about the game’s outcome but expressed one major hope for the event, pushing for better commercials.
“It used to be epic,” she said of Super Bowl ads from past years. “So I’m just hoping for better commercials.”

The Kansas City Chiefs are on the brink of making NFL history as they prepare for Super Bowl LIX. Regardless of the outcome, their journey this season has already cemented their legacy in the league.
The Chiefs are attempting to achieve what no other team has done before: winning three consecutive Super Bowls. While other franchises have won three straight NFL championships, none have accomplished this feat exclusively in the Super Bowl era. The Green Bay Packers hold two such records, securing three consecutive titles from 1929 to 1931 and again from 1965 to 1967—the latter two victories occurring in the first two Super Bowls. However, the Chiefs have a chance to become the first team to capture three straight Super Bowl victories.
The Eagles Could Rewrite History

Standing in the Chiefs' way are the Philadelphia Eagles, a team eager to rewrite history in their own right. This matchup marks a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, where Kansas City secured victory with a last-second field goal by Harrison Butker. The Eagles, however, are not concerned with the Chiefs’ quest for a dynasty. Their focus is on redemption and etching their own names into the record books.
As Super Bowl LIX approaches, all eyes will be on this high-stakes showdown, with one team vying for immortality and the other determined to carve out a championship legacy of its own.

The stage is set for Super Bowl LIX, as the NFC No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles (17-3) take on the AFC No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs (17-2) at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. With kickoff scheduled for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, this rematch of Super Bowl LVII promises to be a high-stakes showdown between two of the NFL’s most dominant teams.
The Chiefs opened as a 1.5-point favorite at BetMGM, and that line has remained steady. The total over/under is set at 48.5 points, though it briefly moved up to 49.5 before settling back down.
With history on the line for Kansas City as they attempt to secure three consecutive Super Bowl wins, and the Eagles looking for redemption after their heartbreaking loss two years ago, Super Bowl LIX is shaping up to be one for the ages.
Fans can catch the action on Fox, with the game also streaming live for free on Tubi. Additional broadcast options include Fox Deportes, Telemundo, and various NFL digital properties.
