Kanye West Under Fire For Hypocrisy As Kim Kardashian Clip Resurfaces

Kanye West has come under fire after a resurfaced clip from "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" revealed he shamed ex-wife Kim Kardashian for dressing “too sexy” six years before he allegedly styled his current wife, Bianca Censori, in a completely sheer dress for the 2025 Grammys.

The clip, from Season 17 of the reality show, features West criticizing Kim Kardashian’s 2019 Met Gala dress, a waist-cinching, custom Thierry Mugler design that created a “dripping wet” illusion.

The SKIMS founder, nervous about debuting the bold look, explained in a confessional, “I’m so nervous because I know that Mr. Mugler is like a fashion god, and I just want him to be so happy.”

However, Kanye West wasn’t happy.

The night before the Met Gala, he expressed his disapproval, telling Kardashian, “Like the corset, underwear, all of that vibe, I just feel like I just went through the transition where, from being a rapper, like, looking at all these girls, looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh, my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing her body off, showing this, showing that.’”

He then added, “I didn’t realize that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and [in] love and the father of now, about to be, four kids.”

West went on to describe Kardashian’s corset as “a form of underwear” and questioned, “It’s hot for who, though?”

His disapproval prompted Kardashian to defend herself, accusing West of giving her “really bad anxiety” with his last-minute critique. “Just because you’re on your journey and your transformation doesn’t mean that I’m in the same spot with you,” she shot back, referring to his newfound spiritual beliefs at the time.

West stormed out of the room in frustration, leaving Kardashian and her team stunned.

Social media users were quick to call out the hypocrisy, with many pointing out how West once scolded Kardashian for embracing her sensuality, only to publicly stand by Censori in one of her most revealing outfits yet.

"He needs CONTROL of his woman," one user wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

"Too sexy because he didn’t choose it and she dared to have a mind of her own," another said.

A third alleged, "Exactly why Kim Kardashian left his a--. Exactly why after she divorced him, she immediately moved on and dated Pete Davidson. Exactly why."

This is something Bianca's friends have previously expressed, including one individual who spoke to Daily Mail, claiming she is "stuck" and no one can save her “because of the control Kanye has over her."

“Everyone is extremely concerned," they added. "This isn’t who she is. She is an incredibly outspoken and lively person who is never one to keep her mouth shut. But she has no one right now, and it is scary.”

The resurfaced clip has reignited discussions about West’s double standards, as he recently dressed Censori in an entirely see-through dress without undergarments at the 2025 Grammys. The 47-year-old rapper arrived on the red carpet with Censori draped in a fur coat, only for her to remove it at his command, revealing the barely-there ensemble that quickly went viral online.

West, who remained fully clothed, stood by her and watched her closely as photographers snapped their pics.

A lip-reader translated what looked like an uncomfortable conversation between the couple right before Censori put her entire body on display. West allegedly told her to “start making a scene now” and “drop it behind you and then turn, I got you,” to which Censori replied, “All right, let’s go.”

West and Kardashian were married for seven years before she filed for divorce in February 2021. Their divorce was finalized a year later, and West went on to marry Censori in December 2022.

Now, his past comments about modesty have come back to haunt him, as fans question whether his stance on fashion and self-expression has changed or if it was only ever about control.
