50 Cent's beef with Gotti dates back to the early 2000s when the rapper and his G-Unit crew started a rivalry with Ja Rule, who was signed to Gotti's Murder Inc.

The dispute started when Ja Rule was robbed by a member of 50's G-Unit in Southside Jamaica, Queens, New York.

The incident led to many diss songs, snitch accusations, and physical altercations between the two camps, including a brawl at a nightclub in Atlanta.

However, when 50 Cent was infamously shot nine times in front of his grandmother's house in May 2000, investigations revealed the involvement of Murder Inc. Records.

According to reports, the attempt was made on 50's life after he mentioned Gotti's close friend, Queens drug lord Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, in the song "Ghetto Qu'ran," per XXL.

Although nobody from Murder Inc. Records nor McGriff himself was charged with the shooting, that hasn't stopped tension between the camps from continuing.

50 Cent's decision to troll Gotti over his health issues might have shocked many, but this isn't the first time Gotti will be the subject of the rapper's jibe.

When Gotti's mini-stroke was first reported in August 2024, 50 Cent saw it as an opportunity to drag his arch-nemesis.

The rapper uploaded a picture of Gotti walking with a cane and captioned it, "D-mn homie, in high school you was the man homie, WTF happened to you?" per HipHopDx.

The caption was a reference to his song "Wanksta," an alleged diss record at Ja Rule.

However, 50 didn't stop there, adding, "I want Irv to get well, [raised eyebrow emoji] so he can have to watch my next wave [wave emoji] LOL."

The rapper also mocked Gotti after Nelly and Ashanti announced they were expecting a child.

Ashanti, who was once signed to Murder Inc., was involved in a relationship drama with Gotti, whom she called out for insinuating they once dated.

50 saw a chance to drag Gotti by sharing a post that suggested the music label owner was angry at the news.

What Has Irv Gotti Said About His Health Struggles?

During an appearance on the "Drink Champs" podcast I'm 2023, Gotti spoke about his struggles with diabetes, noting, "It's rampant with Black people. What it does is, it starts deteriorating your body," per Newsweek.

The music producer also revealed that his diabetes wasn't under control, explaining that he'd been diagnosed with "diabetes forever."

Gotti explained that his diabetes condition was hereditary.

"When my [blood sugar] gets too high, shot [of insulin]. It's reversible, but you gotta change the way you eat," Gotti said.

However, the label owner strived to change his diet, which he admitted was challenging.

"You know what's f-ck-d up with diabetes? So anything that you're gonna like or tastes good, horrible for you … You're supposed to eat some leaves or some sh-t like that," he disclosed.
