Antonio Brown decided to channel one of the greatest rapper’s of all time, after he was released from the New England Patriots, quoting him on social media after the news he had been fired.
The NFL wide-receiver tweeted minutes after it was announced he had been fired from his job, “The Marathon Continues.”
The phrase was made popular by rapper, Nipesy Hussle, and when he was murdered it became a calling for equality and justice. Fans and artist also started using the quote in support of Nipsey’s family, business and to carry on his legacy.

Antonio was released by the football team, just minutes ago, and issued the following statement, “The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”
This is not the first time the baller has quoted the rap star, earlier this month, Brown posted on Instagram lyrics from one of Hussle’s hit songs, “You can hol me down through these trouble times or be another victim to my stubborn pride.”

At the time, he was in the middle of a disagreement with the ‘Raiders’ GM over his refusing to wear a certain type of helmet.
The receiver decided to pay homage to his quarterback for 11 days, Tom Brady, by posting, “Love ya champ that was fun!”
