Rapper and fashion mogul Kanye West, also known as Ye, is once again at the center of controversy after posting and later deleting a highly sexualized tweet about former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kanye West, who has a history of making inflammatory remarks on social media, has now issued an apology.
Kanye Decided To Delete His Explicit Tweet About Kamala Harris
On Saturday, West took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to share an explicit message about Kamala Harris, referencing her loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
“I used to want to f-ck Kamala until she lost. I don’t f-ck losers anymore,” West wrote in the now-deleted post, per Page Six.
Shortly after, he followed up with another tweet, appearing to mock Democratic supporters who criticized his comments. "The Democrats made me take the loser post down. Naw, I’m kidding. Dey don’t control Black people no more," he said. "Trump 4 life."
West’s comments about Harris have been widely criticized, with many calling them disrespectful and misogynistic, prompting Ye to issue an apology. "Kamala seems like a very nice human," the rapper wrote in an X post. "I just wanna say sorry to her kids."
West’s Social Media Tirade Continues
The 24-time Grammy winner, who was previously banned from X in 2022 for posting anti-Semitic remarks, used the platform to go on a new tirade following his Harris comments.
"The world is so lucky to have me," he wrote in one tweet. He then continued with another bold declaration, "Trump’s back in office. Ye’s back a billionaire. The world might just be ok."
In a bizarre twist, West also joked about being a clone, adding that he was “warming up” and boasting that his wealth allows him to say whatever he wants. “I’m rich, so I can say whatever the f-ck I want to," he said.
Kanye West’s Controversial Legacy Continues with Upcoming Documentary 'In Whose Name?'
Despite the legal battles and public scrutiny, West remains in the spotlight.
In November 2024, news broke that a new documentary about the rapper was in production, offering what its creators describe as a “unique and cinematic perspective” on his transformation.
Titled "In Whose Name?," the film is expected to be released later this year and promises an inside look at West’s public and personal evolution over the past six years.
“With a billion-dollar budget and a commitment to truth, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, invites 18-year-old Nicolas Ballesteros, armed with an iPhone, on a six-year journey revealing unfiltered aspects of celebrity life,” reads the official synopsis.
The film aims to showcase the contradictions of West’s career, addressing his provocative opinions, bold visions, and controversial statements, which have shaped his reputation as one of the world’s most polarizing artists.
Inside Kanye West And Taylor Swift’s Longstanding Feud
As his social media activity gained traction, West also re-shared a post stating that Taylor Swiftis the only person he follows on Instagram, referencing their long and complicated history.
The long-running tension between Kanye West and Taylor Swift dates back to 2009, and despite the years that have passed, their infamous feud continues to make headlines. With both artists nominated at the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards, fans are wondering whether the two music powerhouses will cross paths once again.
The drama between West and Swift was set in motion at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when Swift, who then was a rising country-pop star, won Best Female Video for her hit "You Belong With Me."
As she began her acceptance speech, West stormed the stage, snatched the microphone, and infamously declared, “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”
The moment sparked major backlash, with West facing widespread criticism for publicly humiliating Swift, then just 19 years old.
2025 Grammys: A Potential Face-Off?
With both Swift and West nominated for Grammy Awards in 2025, the stage is set for a potentially awkward encounter.
West’s 2024 track “Carnival” is in the running for an award, while Swift’s hit song “Fortnight” and her "TTPD" album are also up for major nominations.
Swift will reportedly be at an event to present an award, but it seems her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, will not be joining her in order to prepare for the Super Bowl.
After years of high-profile clashes, will the two artists finally come face to face at the biggest night in music? Fans will be watching closely to find out!
