In an effort to counter Lively’s accusations, Baldoni has launched a dedicated website aimed at presenting his version of events. The site provides detailed legal documents and newly uncovered evidence, which he claims contradict Lively’s narrative.

One of the most contentious disputes centers around a lift sequence that was removed from the final film, a decision Baldoni claims was forced upon him by Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

While it seemed Baldoni and Reynolds had a cordial and respectful relationship in the beginning, as revealed in their first-ever text conversation, things quickly took a turn after Baldoni asked about Lively's weight.

According to the case timeline, on April 22, 2023, Baldoni reached out to his personal trainer, who is also a close friend of Lively, to ask about her weight. His reason, according to the documents, was to properly train his back muscles for a lift sequence in which his character, Ryle, lifts Lively’s Lily in a key romantic moment.

Given Baldoni’s history of back injuries, including multiple bulging discs and chronic pain, he claims this inquiry was purely a safety measure to ensure that the stunt was executed properly without risk to himself or Lively.

Despite this, Lively later claimed in her lawsuit that the scene never existed in the film. However, Baldoni’s legal team has provided evidence, including script pages and rehearsal footage, showing that the lift sequence was planned and rehearsed with a stunt double before it was ultimately cut from the film.

Just days later, Baldoni was summoned to Lively’s New York penthouse, where he was met with a furious Ryan Reynolds and accused of "fat-shaming" the actress. According to Baldoni, Reynolds aggressively confronted him, demanding, “How dare you f-cking ask about my wife’s weight? What’s wrong with you?”

Baldoni claims he was so shocked by the hostility of the conversation that he felt compelled to repeatedly apologize despite believing his question was reasonable and necessary for the scene.

According to the docs, the "Deadpool" actor demanded that the lift scene be removed entirely. Lively later echoed this demand, stating in her legal complaint that the scene wasn’t even in the film, a claim Baldoni now disputes with evidence.

Lively Allegedly Threatened To Quit The Film

The confrontation reportedly escalated further when Lively issued an ultimatum, telling Baldoni, "If you can't get on board with how I work, you still have two weeks to recast me."

Baldoni’s legal team argues that this was not a legitimate option, as the film was already halfway through production. Removing Lively at that stage would have led to millions of dollars in financial losses, jeopardized Baldoni’s relationship with Sony (the film’s distributor), and caused severe reputational damage.

Baldoni’s lawsuit claims that this incident marked the beginning of a pattern where he was repeatedly forced to comply with Lively’s demands due to a lack of viable alternatives. While Lively has framed the situation as a workplace dispute involving harassment and discomfort, Baldoni insists that he was placed in an impossible position, where acquiescing was his only option.
