Gretchen Rossi Reportedly Not Offered Full-Time Spot on ‘RHOC’ Despite Her Claims

"Real Housewives of Orange County" starGretchen Rossi will return to the show as part of the season 19 cast since her last appearance as a guest in season 12.

Rossi has reportedly been claiming she was offered a “full-time” position which she couldn’t take due to her heavy schedule.

However, Rossi’s claim has been debunked by an insider who claimed she was only considered to return in a “friend role.”

The Blast announced that Rossi will return as one of the cast members of the highly anticipated "Real Housewives of Orange County" season 19 as production kicks off.

Meanwhile, Rossi, who is making her return after an eight-yearabsence, has been making her return seem more than what it is by claiming she asked for a friend role because she was too busy to appear as one of the main cast members.

However, according to a production insider, Rossi was only given the option to “return in a friend role or not at all.”

"She’s been claiming she was too busy for a full-time position, and that’s why she wanted a friend role, but, again, that’s the only opportunity she was given,” the insider said, per Newsbreak.

Rossi reportedly jumped at the offer because she wanted a chance to return to the show.

The announcement of Rossi’s return to "Real Housewives of Orange County" season 19 has sparked mixed reactions from her co-stars.

Rossi’s friend and rival Tamra Judge took to social media to sarcastically welcome her “bestie” back noting it was time to “dust off those friendship bracelets.” Judge was referring to the gift she gave Rossi in Season 7 as a peace offering due to their rocky history.

Meanwhile, Judge also tagged Bass Lake as the location, referencing their notorious Season 4 clash when she questioned Rossi about going there. Shannon Beador, who is also returning, shared a selfie of herself with Rossi which she captioned, “Welcome @gretchenrossi.”

Jennifer Pedranti commented she was “so excited” for Rossi’s return, while Vicki Gunvalson congratulated Rossi on her return, noting this was “great news.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, on the other hand, posted a video montage to celebrate Rossi’s return claiming she needed to “kiss Gretchen’s a-- like everyone else.” Heather Dubrow also officially welcomed Rossi back, making a post about their shared moments over the years.

"Real Housewives of Orange County" fans aren’t surprised Rossi tried to hype up her return to the show by overstating the circumstances surrounding her comeback.

While reacting to the news, one Reddit user wrote, “Gretchen and lying about the role she was offered, name a more iconic duo.” Still, not all the comments were negative as another section of the fans sounded excited to have Rossi back on the show.

“YESSS!! One of my favorite housewives! She's not the smartest, but she is one of the few who successfully went toe to toe with Tamra. I also loved how she got under Vicki's skin,” commented another Reddit user.

During her last appearance as a series regular in "Real Housewives of Orange County" season 8, Rossi created one of the highlights of the season when she proposed to Slade Smiley.

Rossi’s relationship with Smiley was very controversial because he was previously the fiancé of Jo De La Rosa, who was on "RHOC" seasons 1 and 2.

Although many questioned the authenticity of their romance, Rossi and Smiley have remained together since then. They recently celebrated their 16th anniversary together even though they haven’t officially tied the knot. The couple also share a five-year-old daughter, Skylar Gray.

On Sunday, January 5, Rossi took to her Instagram Stories for a quick Q&A session with fans.

One fan questioned Rossi if she would rather get dressed up or go camping in the woods. However, the "RHOC" star replied she could easily do both with ease depending on her mood.

Meanwhile, another fan wanted to know if Rossi cleans her California house alone or hires someone to help. Rossi explained she’d had help in the past but wasn’t satisfied with the work, so she decided to take care of everything herself. "It's a lot of work on top of working full-time, but at least it's done the way I like," Rossi replied, per Bravo.
