Country music singer Sam Hunt won't have to worry about pleading his case with the law after escaping severe punishment for violating an interlock device.
The "Leave the Night On" hitmaker faced the music for his driving skills last week after officers pulled him over in Tennessee. His case worsened when his infamous 2019 DUI arrest reared its head.
Sam Hunt is no stranger when it comes to escaping legal drama, as he nearly went down the messy divorce route in 2022. Fortunately, he and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, reconciled and continued to enjoy a blissful married life with their two children.
Sam Hunt To Pay A Fine After Getting Booked For Speeding And Driving Violation
According to reports, Hunt was arrested and locked up in Henderson County, Tennessee, following an encounter with officers. Cops pulled the country music singer over on January 20 because he was driving too fast for their liking.
They booked him for speeding and violating an interlock device; however, his time in their custody was short. Hunt was released the same day on a $1,500 bond before his lawyers cleared up the issue days later.
A rep for the entertainer's attorney confirmed the legal practitioner sorted out the paperwork in court this week and helped Hunt escape the legal dilemma without any charges. Instead, the source told TMZ the singer would receive a speeding ticket and pay the fine.
The Interlock Device Violation Stemmed From A 2019 DUI Case
According to the outlet, Hunt's car might have been outfitted with the interlock device following his DUI arrest in 2019. The device, also known as a car breathalyzer, required drivers to blow into it, checking their breath alcohol content before allowing the car to start.
Hunt went viral following his DUI arrest for several reasons, including his unapologetic mugshot. The singer, sporting a full beard, smirked at the camera, looking handsome despite his droopy eyes. In their report, officers noted his eyes had been bloodshot when they pulled him over.
The media personality was reportedly swerving the wrong way down a Nashville street. Cops claimed he smelled of booze, and there were two empty beer cans next to him. Additionally, he had trouble pulling out his driver's license and finding his ID, which they noted was openly sitting on his lap.

After failing to pull out his driver's license and ID, Hunt gave officers a credit card and a passport. He also admitted to drinking, leading to a field sobriety test where he allegedly showed numerous signs of impairment on all tests conducted.
Hunt's case worsened when officers checked his blood alcohol level and discovered it was .173, more than twice the legal limit. On that note, they booked him on DUI charges, and he was released later that day after posting a $2,500 bond.
The DUI drama occurred three years before his marriage nearly went down the divorce route in 2022. Hunt's wife moved to end their marriage over "inappropriate marital conduct" and accused the singer of "adultery."
However, she called off her petition months later and maintained a good relationship with the singer.

A year after the divorce saga, The Blast shared that Hunt had opened up on his fatherhood experience before his second child's arrival. He explained that becoming a parent for the first time changed his perspective on many things and stimulated his growth.
"There were years where maybe I didn't realize how much growing up I had needed to do. And having a child forces you to do that. It shifts something in your nervous system. There's a skin that I needed to shed, and I did when I had my child," Hunt explained, adding:
"I was just at a place in my life where I really needed that, and I'm grateful for it. I feel like I leveled up in a lot of ways, and now I can see I've got a long way to go in general now, but I feel up for the challenge."
Inside Sam Hunt And Hannah Lee Fowler's Love Story
Hunt and his wife, Fowler, reportedly met sometime in 2008 and dated off and on for a few years. The singer once claimed he visited Hawaii seven times to win his lover back, and their rollercoaster relationship became secure in early 2017 thanks to their engagement.
The couple tied the knot months later, on April 15, 2017, in an intimate ceremony in Georgia. As stated, Fowler filed for divorce in February 2022 but asked the court to dismiss her petition months later.
That same year, Hunt and Fowler welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lucy, in May. The proud father announced her birth during a performance at Nashville's Stars for Second Harvest show. The lovebirds celebrated the arrival of their second child, a son named Lowry, in October 2023.
Sam Hunt and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, are expecting their third child in May 2025.
