Roseanne Barr revealed that, contrary to what people might think, her switch to Donald Trump's MAGA movement has not brought her closer to the president's inner circle.
The actress revealed that she has continued to receive cold shoulders from conservative and right-wing celebrities despite previously reinventing her image to support the president.
Roseanne Barr believes the lack of endearment from MAGA supporters is because many of them consider her a "loose cannon."
Roseanne Barr Shares Why She's Being Shunned By Donald Trump's Inner Circle
Speaking with Variety, Barr shared that she remains persona non grata within Trump's inner circle despite now fully supporting his MAGA movement.
According to the actress, she has tried to cozy up to other conservatives and right-wing celebrities and publicly show that she is a right-wing enthusiast. However, her efforts have not brought her closer to the power brokers.
Regarding the treatment she has received, Barr explained that she believes Trump's administration views her as a "loose cannon," a label she agrees with.
"I'm not a party line person for anyone or anything except myself. The Trump staff or whoever runs it, they're a little afraid of me," Barr added. "I am a loudmouth comedian, so I understand it."
Still, being kept out of the inner circle stung, but she has accepted that there is nothing that could be done about it.
"It really hurt my feelings," the actress further remarked. "But what are you gonna do?"
The Actress Is Working On A Right Wing Show
In the meantime, Barr plans to continue making new right-wing-friendly comedy and already has a show she hopes will soon be on the small screen.
The project was co-written with Allan Stephan, who has collaborated with the comedian in the past.
"It's silly and out there," Barr opened up about the show, which will feature four to six episodes in its first season. "[It will contain] very offensive ideas and a lot of swearing.
"I live with my daughter and her husband and their six children on a farm. And they have goats running through their house and stuff," she added. "It's based on my life as a farmer in Hawaii. They save America with guns, the Bible, petty crime and alcoholism."
Roseanne Barr Vows To Produce The Show Independently If Hollywood Won't Back Her
Currently, Barr is shopping the show around, hoping one of Hollywood's top studios will pick it up.
However, she plans to fund the project herself if she doesn't get the support she needs.
"If Hollywood doesn't buy it, then I'm just gonna make it myself," Barr said with conviction,
She went on to say that her show offers the kind of content people want to see — "a show where working-class people win against the enemies of America."
She continued, "I don't give a f-ck either way. I'd like to get paid handsomely to bring another sh-t f-cking network back from doom as I've done twice for ABC. But I just don't see how they would keep their nose out of my business."
"We'll see. If not, I'll just go somewhere else and put it on my own website," Barr concluded.
The 90s Sitcom Star Debuted An Edgy Look In A Rap Music Video
Earlier this month, Barr stunned her longtime fans by appearing in a rap music video sporting a bold look.
The 71-year-old rapped and starred in Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald's visuals for "Daddy's Home," wearing long blonde braids and a pair of dark sunglasses.
Barr wore multiple gold chains on her neck, which she matched with gold earrings, adding to the edginess of her look.
Unsurprisingly, fans expressed their shock at the collaboration and Barr's new look.
"Never thought I would ever see Roseanne in braids, hahaha COOL," one wrote.
Another fan commented, "This is the craziest collab I've ever seen. What a time to be alive!!"
One more person said, "This song is dope af. Roseanne rapping and sounding good, never would have imagined it lol. Absolutely love you both and love the video. God Bless you all."
Roseanne Barr Once 'Hated' Donald Trump, Ex-Husband Claims
In December 2023, Barr's ex-husband, Tom Arnold, shared on X (formerly Twitter) that she once "hated" Trump.
The actor made the claim after being tagged in a tweet about Barr that read, "The de-evolution of Roseanne Barr has been a sh-t show to watch. I remember in 1990 when she and @TomArnold sent $2500 to the anti-David Duke organization I worked for to help defeat him in the US Senate race. Today, she'd probably send Duke the money instead. Sad."
Arnold then responded that he and his ex-wife had initially shared the same political values, loving the same politicians like Edwin Edwards and Bill Clinton and "hating" the likes of David Luke and Donald Trump.
He wrote, "Roseanne HATED Donald Trump. After we divorced, Trump told me I was lucky because she was disgusting. Life is strange."
