Ryan Reynolds raised eyebrows with his appearance at the opening night of Hugh Jackman’s "From New York With Love" residency at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan last Friday.
While Ryan Reynolds brought his signature humor and heartfelt admiration to the event, fans couldn’t help but notice his seemingly fatigued and unwell demeanor, sparking concern on social media.

Hugh Jackman’s 24-date residency featured iconic songs from his celebrated career, including numbers from "The Boy From Oz," "Les Misérables," "The Greatest Showman," and "The Music Man." The performance marked Jackman’s first concert in five years and was an emotional milestone for the actor.
Reynolds attended the event to support his longtime friend and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" co-star. Dressed in an embroidered beige shirt, Reynolds appeared visibly gaunt and overly tanned, with fans describing him as looking “like he hasn’t slept for days.”
During the show, Reynolds participated in a surprise “Hugh & A” session, starting with his trademark wit. “I was told this was going to be a comedy version of 'Les Mis' as a one-man show. We all said it was a terrible idea, but he carried on. I see he’s duped me once again!” he quipped, earning laughs from the audience.

Reynolds didn’t just bring humor—he also delivered a heartfelt tribute to Jackman. Reflecting on their first collaboration 16 years ago, Reynolds praised Jackman’s professionalism and kindness.
“This was the first major movie star I ever worked with,” Reynolds shared. “What I saw was just about the best thing anyone could experience if you’re working your way up in the industry. I love this man, I care about this man. He is genuinely the best human being I know.”
Reynolds jokingly added, “And I have four children!” prompting laughter from Jackman, who teased back, calling Reynolds his “fifth best friend” and joking about Reynolds asking for a free ticket to the show.
Legal Drama Takes Its Toll
Despite the lighthearted moments, fans took to social media to express their worry over Reynolds’ appearance.
“Dude looks like he hasn’t slept for dayyyyysssss,” one user commented.
“He looks unwell,” another added.
A third urged, “Take a break, RR. Might be a better move at the moment.”
“He looks different than the way he used to be. He looks like he’s struggling inside,” someone else observed.
Fans Claim Ryan Reynolds Is Just Trying To Save His Image
Adding to the speculation surrounding Reynolds’ appearance is his ongoing legal battle with his wife, Blake Lively, against Justin Baldoni, the director and star of her last film, "It Ends With Us." The lawsuit, reportedly over creative disputes and contract breaches, has been described as a full-blown legal war and appears to be taking a toll on the couple.
Some are even claiming the couple is pulling PR stunts to try and save their image.
"This is embarrassing," one Instagram user claimed. "He is again trying too hard. He knows people are cancelling him and his wife, and he wants to win people back. You are failing, Ryan."
"Both in damage control mode [at the moment]. Both incredibly desperate to win back the public," someone else said. "Both need to do more than make public and obviously rehearsed professions of love for each other. Both of their recent actions and behaviors speak louder than this publicity stunt."
Leaked 'It Ends With Us' Footage Reveals Key Context
Adding fuel to the fire, Baldoni’s legal team recently released behind-the-scenes footage from "It Ends With Us" to challenge Lively’s allegations. While intended to disprove claims of harassment, the footage has sparked heated debate and provided new context to the controversial case.
The unedited clip, which has since gone viral, features a romantic dance scene at the center of Lively’s allegations. In her complaint, Lively accused Baldoni of dragging his lips down her neck and whispering, “It smells so good,” during a silent take. She claimed the remark went unnoticed by others because the microphones were off.
However, the seven-minute video offers a different narrative. At one point, Baldoni is heard asking, “Am I getting beard on you?” to which Lively responds with laughter, “I’m probably getting spray tan on you.” Baldoni then remarks, “It smells good,” prompting more laughter as Lively explains the scent comes from her body makeup.
The footage has divided public opinion. Baldoni’s team argues it showcases a consensual, professional interaction, while Lively’s team contends it highlights how subtle moments can still contribute to a larger pattern of inappropriate behavior.
