Billy endured a disastrous performance at Trump's Liberty Ball as he struggled with audio issues and awkwardly recited the lyrics to his songs "Old Town Road" and "Achy Breaky Heart" without music or vocal backups.
However, he penned an explanation on Instagram, blaming the odd performance on faulty equipment. He also expressed his honor at performing at the event.
Billy wrote, "I wouldn't have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me."
The singer-songwriter added, "I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I've learned through all these years when the producer says "you're on," you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell. I was there for the people and we had a blast. That's called rock n roll!!!"

Despite Billy's upbeat reaction to his performance, his adopted son, Trace, took to Instagram to express concerns about his well-being.
Trace reflected on how he deeply admired Billy as a child, writing, "The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life."
However, he said he could barely understand Billy now, adding, "It seems this world has beaten you down, and it's become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this, but I really could care less at this point."
In the post, Trace also said his siblings, Brandi, Miley, and Noah, were worried about their dad. He wrote, "Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years, but you've pushed all of us away."
He added, "Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life, and you haven't even been there for her. That's your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow, just like me, she still idolizes you, though."
Trace also expressed the family's hope for Billy to return to health and happiness, writing, "We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew and hoping for the day he returns. You're not healthy, Dad, and everyone is noticing it."
Trace And Braison Cyrus Differ On Dad's Well-Being
Amid family concerns for Billy Ray Cyrus, he and his son Braison revealed their plans to release new music after spending the past year working in the studio together.
Braison shared his thoughts about their joint project in a statement with PEOPLE Magazine. He said, "I've spent this past year getting to know my dad better than I ever have."
He added, "I've heard stories, jokes, and songs that I don't think anyone else has. It's an opportunity to tell my dad's story through music, and I'm fortunate to be able to take it. Music, stories, and family are the most important things to my dad, so to bring the two together is a full-circle endeavor."
Braison also made a post on Instagram Stories about his dad's health. He wrote, "After he spent a week in the hospital in the fall, I’m grateful that my dad is happy, healthy and ready to make this record."
However, Trace responded to his brother's claims on Instagram Stories, writing, "Birds of a feather flock together," apparently alluding to Braisons personal challenges. He added, "This is what healthy looks like. Braison, I can help you too. D-mn, man up boys."
